  1. Au Ciel is good. Some people just like what's in front of them, especially if it looks posh - regardless of quality.
  2. I can't eat anything from Gail's since I saw flies crawling over the food. Make me feel sick just walking past it.
  3. Put a sign on the bench that says "DANGER - do not sit here - bench needs repair" and put tape all over it - while you continue with the more sensible advice above, for a longer term solution.
  4. The problem lies with us and our lifestyle choices which we will cling to as tightly as possible
  5. Consultants are often used to reduce risk (ie. "that epic failure was the result of us following advice from consultants") - rather than the potential risk of sacking someone senior
  6. Has anyone submitted an FOI? They have two weeks to respond.
  7. simple really. If you love the cafe and are a customer, think about the pedestrians and make sure you are not blocking their way.
  8. Too early and if I?m not busy or working will usually have a snooze in the afternoon.
  9. Not all dogs that bark are unhappy but just badly trained and with inconsiderate owners. We have one on EDGrove/ Melbourne grove corner. And one on Melbourne grove itself. I?ve yelled at the owners a few times and they seem to be left outside less. Find out who it is and leave a note saying how concerned / irritated you are. Keep a log, report to council.
  10. I know! They are always open and we assumed the same. Great that the staff get to enjoy Easter in the sunshine. Tesco near Peckham rye is open
  11. I?m sure apology accepted. What did they actually do wrong?
  12. Unrealistic. More likely they were having an affair.....
  13. Totally agree with concerns. Please provide link to email of councillors if you have it to make it easier and more likely people will contact them
  14. People should boycott paper cups anyway and take their own. Usually a travel mug but no harm in taking a mug :-)
  15. yes - she had a lodger agreement
  16. well, he's gone now which is a good thing. There are always risks you take and you can vet anyone as much as you like but time shows what people are like. She now has a surgeon staying and it's fab!
  17. there is that, but the process has started now.
  18. sorry - actually, it's lodger my mum took in over lockdown. He wanted to move out early, she gave him more notice than she needed to, he wasn't happy with the dates and refused to move on time and got quite nasty. She charged him one extra day and now he's taking her to small claims court for ?30, which is a day plus cleaning (he said it was her responsibility). I thought I might get a different response if I said it was me on the difficult end. She could easily just give him the money but he's been threatening and quite spiteful, so we just wanted to see what other people thought.
  19. hahha - good point! might help me to explain it :-)
  20. thanks - I actually agree but just wanted to check.
  21. Hi My friend has been a lodger for the last few months and moved in on 26th May. My friend's contract was for 6 months but she asked to leave early due to COVID and the landlord gave her the two weeks notice and agreed. She was given notice to move out by 25th September and had paid monthly on 26th. She moved out on 26th and the landlord charged her for an extra day. She also charged ?12 for cleaning the landlord said she could have charged a full period of rent as she overstayed. Who is correct? My friend wants to claim the money as this was a deduction from her deposit. Thanks Angie
  22. I'm "getting at" the rules are not being adhered to by adults either. It's really a common gripe to be complaining about the teenagers and singling them out.
  23. who parents the irresponsible adults who are out? Every time I see a group of adults together - who clearly do NOT live together, I want to call the police or their parents. but at their age, they should certainly know better. They are not setting a good example to our young people.
