  1. The polystyrene is just as bad as it's a direct environmental hazard. Graffiti has a different effect, by making an area feel unsafe for people. It can actually indicate a loss of control in an area, literally making it more unsafe. And it spreads. Whether you think it's unsightly or not, it's not relevant. It attracts other behaviours.
  2. Cutting the stem and breaking the lining is most effective, then spraying the small leaves that grow. Digging roots up is a good idea, but if you drop even a tiny bit it will grow so it's better to kill it than dig it
  3. there is that.... and a perfectly valid point.
  4. plastic teabags throw unbelievable amounts of tiny bots of plastic into the water systems. I mean, why would anyone invent them anyway?
  5. Hatters
  6. Dream
  7. not at all
  8. I started around the edges - it's blown everywhere! Quite satisfying to see a clear bit of grass :-) Took my dog and she was quite happy having a sniff around for ten minutes!
  9. It looks like someone's had some fun shredding packaging....maybe without realising what a mess it would make. I'm going to stop by later and see if I can help
  10. ?5 for a coke in the pub in the village
  11. Two million? I'd rather buy a place near the sea and a smaller house and maybe another flat...
  12. .
  13. I like fireworks and I'm totally OK with parties (although not the drunk teenage girl on East Dulwich Grove who just screams and does karaoke badly -just wrong) but loud firework displays need warning if not when usually expected. Our dog was absolutely terrified and she's a rescue so I'm thankful I just happened to be home.
  14. First rule of business....keep it relevant
  15. That is just awful. I hope you are ok. I hope the lady contacts the police. Have they put up witness appeal posters? There must have been lots of people about :-(
  16. what a low life - you really don't need that to deal with on top of everything else Tell the police, tell you insurance company that you have a witness who is withholding information for payment and then get on with sorting out your car. Don't give this person any money. Hope you're ok.
  17. yes chips and lasagne, and salad the only pasta that goes with chips (not fish and chip shop chips though)
  18. our neighbour has one - leading out onto a small patch of artificial grass (they had to give their pet rabbit away too). Not even room to hang your socks out
  19. This is a question for them, rather than speculation on the forum
  20. Just posting the link as it's lost in the main thread on this https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/save-the-cox-s-walk-footbridge-oak-trees?bucket&source=facebook-share-button&time=1565107690&utm_campaign&utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR1Mvw9o2MHDm3gmo1jMs0lDsYSQe5XF7dBWeNSLsuvUGghoebULdxBFJ-8 More signatures and support needed!
  21. wow - now it's escalated to all of London? # just left London as it's so bad but still on the community forum? #
  22. the issue isn't really what the shopowner could have done - it's the OP slating him on social media what if the shopowner had gone on facebook and written - "ED Parent forgets sons precious scooter - what awful parenting..." It would just be wrong.
  23. you would have thought, but the council don't seem to care much about trees - and the risk is they will be felled without a full understanding or discussion.
  24. He could have kept it in the shop longer, but that's really not the issue. The issue is the behaviour of the OP - can't believe they would go on a forum to publicly slate a local business owner, when they have done nothing wrong.
