  1. Rather petition the cafe not to use Single Use Plastic and only biodegradable cups. We have them at work. People forget they hold the power as consumers.
  2. A holiday
  3. I suggest that the community of dog walkers are alerted to the problem by putting up posters and asking for their help in keeping the green clean.
  4. I would rather support a ban on multi dog walkers, same as Dulwich Woods, than a ban on all dog owners. If you actually watch the dog walkers, they are not watching the dogs at all, whereas people with family dogs do
  5. All the people i have met (i'm there every day) walking their dogs are doing just that...playing and spending time rogather. I would put my money on the culprits being multi-dog-walkers, who i've only ever seen on their phones and ignoring the dogs they ate paid to watch.
  6. You are actually very vulnerable near home as you tend to think you are safe and not be watchful. Of course don't have your phones out - that's just stupid really, given the publicity such crime has in the area. And of course, just let it go - don't chase after them. If you've got important photos on it, download them, store your numbers, buy a phone you can afford to lose.
  7. you can take them with your phone if you apply online - the app checks the photo before you submit so you're guaranteed they will be accepted.
  8. A higher valuation at remortgage means you can increase your debt but it doesn't mean it's reflective of the actual sale price.

    Sorted :)

  10. The secret garden in Brockwell Park has gates and is dog free (it's up by the paddling pool just past the greenhouses) Please read the article - it talks about the effect on cats of being on leads. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/08/13/cat-lead-trend-causing-pets-distress-rspca-warns/
  11. drunk people / main road - what could go wrong?
  12. drinking an politics don't mix. Let's focus on more people being able to get out and enjoy themselves.
  13. Fully up for that Two cokes for the kids in the pub in the Village - pennies short of ?10 I could almost live with a small bowl of chips for ?4.50 until that point. They'd added it up wrong, so my ?25 for three cups of chips, two cokes and two ciders became ?35. Will not be going there again.
  14. My parents came up to London for a birthday treat recently - my dad rarely come up so it was a huge deal. They went to Kew gardens and said it was completely overrun with noisy school children. She said parts of it were unbearable due to poor behaviour and lack of adult control - with the odd tantrum thrown in for good measure. They cut their visit short which is a real pity. Now, they are not anti-children, but it's important to remember these places mean different things to different people. Perhaps if there are known hours when groups of children visit it would be more manageable. Or if children were actually managed.
  15. Natty, sorry your bike was stolen. I hope you've reported it to the police. Chances of recovering it are quite slim though :-( Were you insured?
  16. They're only keeping the main red brick entrance of the original building
  17. You can't put cooked food waste in with garden waste as it isn't compostable.
  18. I see a few out walking the dog - around Goose Green Park.
  19. The dog in the poster turned out to be a different dog Both dogs are not united with their owners, happily
  20. There is a poster looking for a missing brown dog in Goose Green park. Do you have more info on the one found?
  21. You can also drop things off in supermarkets - I know there's a basket for donations in Morrisons, probably one in Sainsbury I think the rule is - tinned or dried food is fine, they don't take perishables (fresh veg etc) so all of your items sound fine. I don't know about toiletries but homeless shelters might take them
  22. so the reality is - because we have to vote for someone, we have to vote for anyone who stands, regardless - so we end up having to vote for people who we don't want - as t seems that people who we actually would want, are not standing. bit of an opportunity there, for anyone with good moral fibre...
  23. Give examples with real results - for instance, don't say "I'm really good at patient care", say, "when I worked at xxx I introduced some new methods of working which notably improved patient care in my area - my manager's thanked me for this and I showed other people what I did" so, not just what you did - but the impact it had, how you dealt with real situations - and the result. Sorry - but I don't ' know about NHS interviews, but I imagine they would want to learn what you could bring...
  24. We make quorn tikka masala and it's great! takes literally ten mins, serve with rice (10 mins) or naan bread (3 mins in oven). We use the quorn fillets and cut them up rather than the quorn pieces and buy a jar of sauce. Cheap, easy, fast an nutritious and you can add any veg you like. There are so many sites - it really depends on the types of food you like/ want to try..... just go online and look around.
  25. there are a few greyhounds who walk in Goose Green Park - have you thought about putting up a notice on the boards/ gate? you could set up a group on fb or whatsapp. If I see anyone out, I'll tell them to look on here... it's a great idea - they like chasing, so a group would sort that out :-)
