  1. No one said he was having a bbq.
  2. someone having a bonfire on an allotment = criminal destroying evidence? really? Someone being overly paranoid is more likely. You can't burn knives anyway. I would have thought, close to bonfire night, someone was having a bonfire and stayed to watch it die down. The allotments have bonfires for Guy Fawkes night and we are talking Saturday night to Sunday morning. My other half lights our bonfires at night and usually stays up until 4/5am and then has a bbq for breakfast.
  3. I try to avoid them and have a few shopping bags we all use and keep using.
  4. re-use them or put them in recycling
  5. They're all amateurs. You'd think there would be a basic politician's introductory pack into what it means to be responsible/ honourable/ honest etc. Never mind. Interesting you turn the comments about the budget into a dig at Corbyn. He didn't set the budget.
  6. Thanks. I'm wondering about a larger one as one of my cats is quite something! Of course, a few less treats and she might get through a normal sized one. :-)
  7. Does anyone have one and can recommend one please? The price range is huge - my cats quite big and it has to go into a pvc door.
  8. are they being removed? I've not noticed - not everyone has a smartphone so I would be surprised.
  9. I get the bus to work every day, takes me about the same time as getting the train or tube, with interchanges taken into account. I travel from Goose Green to Westminster, so either bus (change in Camberwell) or get to Brixton to get the tube, or get train at Denmark Hill. I could really do without the people who talk ALL the way on their phones, or the greasy eaters - really? But I take a book and it's ok. 40minutes, not too bad...
  10. be radical and give out fruit I will, can't say I'll be popular though with the little sugar monsters. Who cares, we're a (very nearly) sugar free family - kids included) :-)
  11. I think it's a bit dubious that OP would prefer to come across as an unrelated third party when they're clearly not I do like transparency
  12. and keep checking the local vets too.
  13. Likewise. I rarely walk up that way. The inside of the bridge, on the road facing the station would be visible by everyone.
  14. Maybe you could print posters and put them through people's doors. He's probably hiding and staying out of the way. Not everyone will see this post and I have seen your posters around, but maybe a message that's really relevant...eg "injured and seen in this road yesterday" might get more people looking for him xx
  15. On holiday in Devon this year, we noticed that they had AED in local garages and the bus stops had notices stating the nearest ones. There is also one at the hospital here. I agree it's a good idea to have more locally and would support this.
  16. ok, well don't send in what they ask for - your call.
  17. "Even superheroes tidy their rooms"? I hope you wouldn't dream of putting that on your kids walls. If your kid is too young to choose, just get something nice to look at....
  18. Very pretty and fresh. Appreciate the effort involved, especially in such weather!
  19. Why not call Southwark Admissions and ask. They do a drop in centre at Peckham Library once a week, so you could go there and have a chat. I would go with what the application asks for and scan and attach the documents requested. Not sure why you would think to not do that, when they've asked for it.
  20. 9am is a reasonable time, is it not? school run's over, majority of people have gone to work. If it was night time, that would be a problem because majority of people like to sleep at night time; It's early enough when daytime people aren't really out and about yet. What did it say in the planning permission? I can't remember... I think people were worried the deliveries would block Lordship Lane or that they would be at unsociable hours.
  21. spam. Admin will delete it when they see it
  22. not clear why you wouldn't wait for permission for alterations.
  23. I suggest you go and visit their planning team and try and work it out. Did you go into the attic to make the renovations? or did you lower your own ceiling? You wouldn't be allowed to tamper with the former as it belongs to the freeholder - this may have something to do with it. It sounds a bit like you've acted on a proposal with the expectation that it would be approved and then found out it's not.
  24. I think the tone has become a little aggressive and not necessary. Everyone has a right to disagree and I agree with one set of professionals more than the other. As do many people. It's not really fair to pick on one individual. I would have thought that the official consultation would have included collaboration with the vets (also professionals) who had taken the bodies of the animals over the few years. Do we know why that didn't happen? I do know that if I want a particular view on anything endorsed, I can get it. But I guess that's politics.
