  1. "Even superheroes tidy their rooms"? I hope you wouldn't dream of putting that on your kids walls. If your kid is too young to choose, just get something nice to look at....
  2. Very pretty and fresh. Appreciate the effort involved, especially in such weather!
  3. Why not call Southwark Admissions and ask. They do a drop in centre at Peckham Library once a week, so you could go there and have a chat. I would go with what the application asks for and scan and attach the documents requested. Not sure why you would think to not do that, when they've asked for it.
  4. 9am is a reasonable time, is it not? school run's over, majority of people have gone to work. If it was night time, that would be a problem because majority of people like to sleep at night time; It's early enough when daytime people aren't really out and about yet. What did it say in the planning permission? I can't remember... I think people were worried the deliveries would block Lordship Lane or that they would be at unsociable hours.
  5. spam. Admin will delete it when they see it
  6. not clear why you wouldn't wait for permission for alterations.
  7. I suggest you go and visit their planning team and try and work it out. Did you go into the attic to make the renovations? or did you lower your own ceiling? You wouldn't be allowed to tamper with the former as it belongs to the freeholder - this may have something to do with it. It sounds a bit like you've acted on a proposal with the expectation that it would be approved and then found out it's not.
  8. I think the tone has become a little aggressive and not necessary. Everyone has a right to disagree and I agree with one set of professionals more than the other. As do many people. It's not really fair to pick on one individual. I would have thought that the official consultation would have included collaboration with the vets (also professionals) who had taken the bodies of the animals over the few years. Do we know why that didn't happen? I do know that if I want a particular view on anything endorsed, I can get it. But I guess that's politics.
  9. Foxes very rarely attack cats - they don't see them as something to eat or a threat. Foxes and cats keep to themselves. So, as long as it's rubber stamped it's gospel? I am surprised how gullible people are.
  10. I think it's more likely the foxes got hold of the cats after they had been mutilated by a person. There are too many similarities to the killings - none of which are in a natural predator style of killing. Total BS.
  11. That'sounds a great idea. Let's hope we have some role models who are eager to take a positive step rather than just moan.
  12. It's very hard to say no to someone who has a convincing story - and you don't actually ever know if it's real or not. I suppose you just go with what you feel comfortable with at the time and try not to beat yourself up about it later. It's human nature to want to help people and we shouldn't suppress that just because there are scumbags out there who take advantage of other people's kindness.
  13. It is an idea, but surely the solution would be to have more police?
  14. possibly, but maybe they did and they just haven't been looking at the Forum. The thing is, they are so believable and they appeal to your good nature which is why you are validating the con to yourself. When my mum got caught, she really believed that the lady would bring back the ?10 she had borrowed and couldn't believe someone would lie that well.
  15. That's exactly what it is - easy pickings. The question is - what is happening to protect ourselves and get this stopped? Unacceptable and deafening silence from our counsellors and mayor....(other than 'Call 999').
  16. Even our industrial one at work jams if you put too much paper in. It does have a reverse button though, which is great and maybe a feature worth exploring.....
  17. ask them to specify the documents they need. Corgi registration is the plumber's qualification. Is the one you used Corgi registered? There should be no requirement for them to be VAT registered, so that's nonsense. You can provide an invoice if plumber has charged you.
  18. Thanks Mrs D. That also sounds fab. We're going to check them out this week!
  19. Presumably your plumber is qualified, in which case there should be no problem getting an official report on headed paper or with his name and details. I hope it clearly shows the source of the water as being external to your flat. You also need to list the damage to your flat and costs related. You may need to force Southwark to act and then do a claim against them for damages incurred. Keep detailed records of all communications (even attempted comms where they didn't answer phone etc), who you spoke to, time, etc...
  20. That's just awful. I hope he's ok. What a nasty bunch of bullies. No, Penguin, we don't all reminisce about happy crime-free good old days, we all care and are livid this is happening now - to us and to our children.
  21. Report it to the police DV team and get a reference number. If you hear it again, call it in immediately. It doesn't need to be said how important it is. You could save a life, as it only ever gets worse. I hope there are no children involved.
  22. done ! thanks for sharing - very easy to follow proposals and a simple questionnaire to complete - ten mins max
