  1. Dog walkers should not have the dog off lead unless they have full recall control, regardless of park rules
  2. If you want to reduce the sound from your flat, you can add acoustic or sound absorbing material under your carpet. There are many options for different budgets (google sound reduction in upstairs flat) In terms of improving your relationship with your downstairs neighbour, a really good first action would be to stop labelling him as mentally ill and start to consider that he may be very stressed and grumpy after prolonged noisy upstairs neighbours who don't take any notice of his complaints. There's always two sides to one story, but this is completely solvable
  3. Why assume he has serious mental heath issues? It may be intolerable for him. There are often complaints about vertical neighbours, especially those with kids or pets. If there is no insulation between ceiling and floor, sound carries. Kids or pets run around a lot and the sound of feet carries. You don’t say what type of flooring you have, having thick carpets etc can help
  4. And Sunak is a tool
  5. Brockwell Park was sensible enough to stop events which it’s site could not manage, and instead host events it can manage. Peckham is not that sensible and is hosting events which it cannot manage. It either needs to reimagine the event planning AND/OR manage how the park is treated and ensure damage is not done that is irreparable
  6. You’re missing my point. It used to host Pride and many others, there were lots of free parties in the park. They stopped because they became unmanageable. Peckham hadn’t learnt yet that not all parks suit these events
  7. Exactly…. and a repeat next year will just compound it
  8. There was a reason that brockwell park stopped hosting events, and it seems to have been forgotten, and Peckham seems just so less suited to it. It’s just not the most appropriate site and the park has suffered for it
  9. I’d like to see an inspection by the councillors, with a photo in the media - just so we know that they are aware of this. I’m all for a party but this damage is awful
  10. The council would have to provide information for an FOI request. The questions would have to be worded so that they wouldn’t be able to say that it’s commercially sensitive. net income from an event funded by taxpayers is not commercially sensitive; asking for a breakdown of income and costs could be
  11. There used to be events in brockwell park, for years, including Pride and they were never ticketed and there was never the damage there is now. the music isn’t the issue ( although at least Brixton had live bands this year and Peckham didn’t get that right). it’s the insult of a private company working with our council to host a private ticketed event and then show such disrespect for the area.
  12. It’s the management of it that is the problem, and the damage
  13. On a bench, smoking grass
  14. suggests that the way forward is to report all instances of antisocial behaviour to the police, and get it recorded
  15. Food debris is rubbish
  16. Very much agree. The parks are beautiful and the damage these events have is far reaching. Clearly complaint to the organisers is falling on deaf ears; had anyone complained to the council? Or who/ what failing that? The press? The mayor?
  17. Let’s move past the bickering This post is about the management of the gala and the damage to the environment and how to address accountability
  18. Google insurance with subsidence and a number of options come up
  19. That’s what the post is about - encouraging locals to support independents rather than chains (like Megans)
  20. Happy to hear that
  21. Acquired from a breeder?
  22. what is the status of your company? is it formally closed, yet the bank account is open? How are you planning on extracting the funds from the company account? Do you have your emails from a personal email account? Is there any indication that it is a business sale, other than a business bank account - did you tell them it was a business bank account - does the bank account you gave them have a different name?
  23. Why don’t you rent closer and buy later
  24. You can contact the teachers or request a meeting at any time. have you asked the school for your child to be moved into a different group?
