Absolutely Jazzer. As more people realise it takes too long to do their unnecessary trips in the car, they’ll look at doing things differently- possibly driving at different times, not driving etc - and this will help clear the traffic and make it easier to travel by bus. Fewer unnecessary drivers means less traffic.

I agree - do you know if the council are taking steps to prevent that? It seems an obvious income stream if the council were to issue fixed penalty notices, with Community Support Officers out and about.

the answer to slower traffic is for people to avoid unnecessary car journeys and for people to use public transport. Pedestrians and school children should not have to have narrower pavements so we can have wider roads to accommodate heavy traffic. Safety on public transport - for the public and staff is a priority for TfL.

Spot on - people choose to drive from convenience, or because they need their vehicles (work, care, etc). There are many who drive from convenience when there are other means or getting about. Any measures to reduce car emissions, pollution and number of unnecessary journeys is welcome. The council is right to improve the pedestrian area.

It’s not just barbers. Think laundrettes, car washes etc. there is a lot more crime in Dulwich than you can see

That's purely speculation Penguin. You don't get to judge that "worries about mistreatment can be set aside" because you don't know the facts. The poster said they've spoken to the owners, who are not technically the owners but only part time owners, and that they leave the dog alone all day, knowing he has separation issues. If the dog is shut outside all day - it can be fine if they are given shelter and water. Is that the case? It doesn't appear to be. If the dog is shut in all day - can the neighbours hear it? is it only stressed when outside? It needs looking into.

Wonder if the actual owners know what’s going on. That’s sad.

I'm sure they are just waiting until the weather improves. It is lovely to walk over the lake but it's perfectly possible to walk around it and admire it.

You will need to be able to provide an address before the council or animal welfare will get involved. Dogs can be left outside if they have access to shelter. In this instance, there does seem to be a pattern. We had a neighbour who let her dog bark. She said "He likes barking" so didn't do anything. She didn't like being shouted at over the gardens or her door knocked by her various annoyed neighbours, so it stopped. Just a thought.

Wow. Roaming wildly in the woods. Is there history of this owner being dangerous or out of control? Dogs can be kept with certification and yes - should be on lead in public places but having an off lead early morning walk in the woods?
