  1. glue traps are really cruel.
  2. the title gave me no clues to it being "FOR ROSY'S EYES ONLY"....
  3. finding an ice-cream in the freezer the kids had missed :-)
  4. Aerie - you're a month late. The secret of comedy is timing, but I don't think that excuses you trying to open this up again.
  5. I know this is about walks, but the website might be informative for cycling routes? http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1674825,1674850#msg-1674850
  6. a simple solution would be to introduce a one way system (yes! for people!).... those getting off use the walkway - those getting on use the front stairs to the platforms. the little time delay in exiting the staion from the train should reduce congestion from each train - i.e. those getting on and off don't use same stairs at same time.
  7. In which case just take her Zipcard. It would be pretty mean of a guard to bother a young person travlling alone. You could always write a letter with your details on, should the situation arise and to avoid your daughter feeling uncomfortable.
  8. Try 'meetme' website - there are lots of groups /activities (for almost everything!) There's an EDF Curry Club. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,78792,1701221#msg-1701221 Maybe you could start something up! There have been a few similar posts. Forum drinks have been mentioned. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1684338,1687122#msg-1687122
  9. You couldn't make it up. They probably saw the teapot and thought they'd "reinvent" it for coffee. Can you imagine, Cafe Nero selling a DIY latte?
  10. is brunch served on a section of surfboard? Could be a new spin on 'Surf and Turf' #no-plates
  11. of course - yes you can represent yourself - but I would gather that if the OP is already physically ill then the thought - let alone the act - of confrontation would be too much. Court itself is a big thing. I've been in a similar situation and sometimes, it's fine to get help and support - let someone else have that to deal with instead. Better to try and sort it out first, without even going there. A little chat with the police might just help....
  12. correct - rather daunting though. And you would have to pay your own legals, unless you win and get it paid by your neighbours :-( https://www.gov.uk/ how-to-resolve-neighbour-disputes / use-a-mediation-service the link I sent earlier wasn't in full - the above points directly to the page - you will need to mediate as a precursor for taking it any further anyway - so I suggest you try this The police should be able to help - I'm sure they've dealt with similar, if not worse, so I'm sure they'll be supportive.
  13. depends on type of tickets bought - did you use a Young Persons Railcard or other? If o, you'll need that. If you're concerned otherwise, she shouldn't need proof of age to travel.
  14. look at this website https://www.gov.uk/how-to-resolve-neighbour-disputes/use-a-mediation-service It's clearly a real problem to you and being told to mind how to perceive it is not the solution. I wouldn't let my kids annoy my neighbours, it's disrespectful.
  15. www. meet up . com register.....
  16. sounds like a lovely family meal :-) We had dinner at a relatively posh friend's and the garlic from the kiev squirted out onto the wall.... Shock easily became the comedy moment .... as it should have been....
  17. when people write 'been' instead of 'being' - they probably say it too but it sounds the same. example - the grass is been mowed as we speak. It's incorrect and really bugs me (not to the point of annoyance, so maybe it doesn't qualify for this OP?)
  18. I thought that was just practical! With kids if the tv is on - they don't pay attention to food.....
  19. If I have friends round, I serve it in dishes on the table, everyone helps themselves - but then it's generally a bit more laid back as kids involved and other mums.... We don't have formal dinners. Is that a modern thing, or are we just not posh? At least we eat together every day - and have friends join us as much as we can. No eating in front of the TV - have to eat at dining table. Christmas is the only exception - and that's at my sister's house.....and even then it's pretty relaxed.
  20. Thanks for posting the link with all the plans. :-) I've just read the transport plans and want to read through the rest. Are you aware of any dispute against the plans as they are?
  21. yes it is about the Health Cente, but I do just want to say - my daughter's going to the new school and - as the temporary school is on a different site - the school are encouraging 1) parents / teachers to lead groups of cyclists to the school 2) teachers to meet the children at key bus stops to walk together 3) school bus for those who live far....pick up from the ED Site There is NOTHING which encourages driving...AT ALL. I think the new school is brilliant and I'm looking foward to the site being used properly. Back to the Health Centre (sorry - but I think the parking is a distraction)
  22. saves guessing what everyone wants, too..... Lou - have you tried making G&T ice lollies?
  23. oh dear Louisa, no 'help'? THAT would have given them something to talk about. Perhaps invite them again to make amends (;-)) and borrow someone rather lovely to wait.... Joking aside, it all sounds rather formal and unfriendly for an informal dinner with friends.
  24. How about raising money through crowdfunding to get the place in tip top shape? The adventure playground in the park has a cafe and hires out for private parties....
