  1. I was in the Co-op on Sunday and they were playing The Cult - Sanctuary Pretty awesome and I bought some really nice salad
  2. I strongly advise you to visit the schools - your daughter may have a preference! Some girls in my daughter's class liked Kingsdale - we hated it - cold and drafty... but we are all different. You really need to review the criteria for each school - some are based on distance - some on points in a test, some on religious criteria (which church etc) - and decide which you are most likely to be successful for. There's no point putting a first choice you are far off target for. And only apply for ones you really want to go to. You don't have to use all your choices available on the form. If you decide to apply for a school that takes tests, you may want to think about swatting for the papers.
  3. It's not necessary, but it would be nice. You could spend all day fixing minor things. Let the new owners do it - they'll likely redecorate anyway - it's all part of the pleasure of moving in to a new home.
  4. kbabes - have you tried making gin and tonic ice lollies?
  5. M&Ms World in Leicester Square.. Absolute nightmare.
  6. how much is ice in M&S? I'm curious. I bet they don't really sell it. It would probably be the purest tap water, frozen quickly to maximise it's purity and icy-ness, and packaged in superfluous plastic which is neither recyclable or biodegradeable but the fact that it cost so much would make me think I'd got something really special.
  7. I make iced coffee and take it with me :-) Am going to try out Brickhouse - it keeps getting mentioned..
  8. I still prefer waitrose.
  9. I found seven ?1 notes when I was very little and my mum asked all the neighbours if anyone had lost any money, if so how much and when. Lots of guessing later by them all, I got to keep it!
  10. Mango was pre-cut and packaged. I baulked at the price but was out with my daughter and it was that or something else. It was actually very very nice and while I wouldn't buy it very often, I would probably buy it again.... CONvenience, indeed.
  11. have to say, the mango at ?3.45 is the best I have had for a long time.....
  12. skiing sounds fab!
  13. I was being sarcastic. I can't abide the Christmas fuss. We have birthdays in December and Christmas planning doesn't start until 13th Dec - although we've usually worked out whose house we're all going to.... that's pretty much it.
  14. we make them at home, but I will definitely start early... sooner the better. got my Christmas Carols out already.
  15. the right thing to do is hand it into the police. If it's not claimed within a certain timeframe they'll give it to you.
  16. nice, Seabag. my sister's done similar - with carpet in the middle and the wood all around the edge - about 1m margin.
  17. We don't think about it until December at all. Ever. Although my sister has been known to order the turkey earlier than that. My friend does a very successful blog - she may be happy to help you - mummytries.com She has three very young children
  18. keep the wood dust from sanding the floor and mix with a resin filler. here's a vid if the gaps are too big, you will need to pack with strips of wood.
  19. when you bought the property the solicitors should have covered off if there were any outstanding leaseholders costs. If they did - and they weren't identified you would have a point. Follow up with lease-advice.org If they did and they were known - that 's different as you would haev known you were taking on the debt. The lease advice website is really useful. Shelter can also advise - or point you in the right direction
  20. Act as if you don't know who he is. Treat him as you would anyone else.
  21. Personally, I like the staff in Co-op. they're always really nice. I'm glad that they're all ok. While there are definately issues with the shop, I pick bits up from different shops as and when - and always pop in there - and will continue to do so. I did venture into M&S on Saturday with my friend and was really disappointed with lack of choice - veg section was tiny - not much fresh fruit (not counting plastic containers of cut-up melon etc - as - you know - I can cut my own now). So, yes.... like the co-op more... for all it's faults
  22. If she's injured she is likely to go home. I would also go out calling for her.
  23. skylight robbery!
  24. I was lucky enough to be invited to a private performance by Tom Jones! Def did not sleep through that!
  25. Thanks all, for the tips. I'm meeting one of the directors tomorrow - which will be interesting - he's not been particularly proactive before. And now I know what info I need, it will make more sense to me. There are definately some very odd characters, which I will have to address..... Many thanks J
