  1. And this one's a bit weird: http://smileyshut.com/smileys/new/Others/winter-146.gif
  2. This one for instance is, well, not as good: http://smileyshut.com/smileys/new/Others/snow-141.gif
  3. Simple - I'm a genius. Oh all right I'm also a liar - just click on my snow bound mate and you'll find a smiley site. There are lots of others - just use the 'forum' links.

  5. I wouldn't say it was 'atrocious'. It was apparently the first public appearance of the singer since the murder of her nephew, brother and mother. Maybe 'atrocious' was just 'emotional'.
  6. Kingsbury David Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I literally now feel like I'm 8 or so again when I see an old sign Really - literally? Hmmmm. Bah Humbug. Are you really sure that TfL physically removed the signs? Much that I'd like to have an excuse to blame Boris the Bogey Man I understand that most Tfl work is contracted to the boroughs and I'm sure that they don't always have to blindly follow orders.
  7. It's a bit odd this one because it is a "re-appeal" for information by the police that seems to have been picked up heavily by the regional press as well as being covered by the Standard article. It would appear, given the regional coverage, that British Transport Police think that the perp may no longer be in the area. I might, of course, be wrong. The most recent offence was November 2007.

Anyone know what happened/when it was > taken out of service and removed? Honor Oak Station - pictures here first linked by Macroban And quite a bit of discussion on this thread: Lordship Lane Station Including this link that covers the history of this now defunct track: Crystal Palace Route
  9. Learning marital arts is a lifelong commitment and has very little to do with boots... except when you fail to notice the new ones etc etc blah blah blah hic
  10. Take a bow Eric Illsley: "The best definition of 'gastro-pub' that I can provide is a pub that provides food of such quality that people will attend merely for the quality of the cuisine, rather than because it is a place where they can drink alcohol."
  11. Eileen Conn - 'Eileen' on the EDF
  12. Ulverscroft? Only one tree seemed to have been removed when I went down there this afternoon.
  13. This came up before: Volunteering in ED I stand by my suggestion of the Dulwich Helpline as a great organisation but as you can see there are lots of others.
  14. Try this: V1s and V2s Dulwich
  15. Whilst it's true that there is a Belvoir Hunt I think the Belvoir connection is coincidental. Quorn Road is part of the Dog Kennel Hill (or East Dulwich) Estate. All of the roads therein and most (if not all) of the blocks that form the estate make reference to hunts because, as far as I understand, it's called Dog Kennel Hill because it used to be the site of dog kennels that housed hounds used for hunting. Names apart from Quorn include: Albrighton, Whaddon, Riseholme etc The blocks don't appear on A-Z's but you can see them here: OpenStreetMap Slightly off the original topic so to get back on: nunheadbelle please don't spout such b****cks before the new school has even opened.

You appear not to be aware that Peter John, who is Leader of the Labour Group on the Council, is not on the Executive to which he and you refer so don't be too harsh. He represents the area that overlooks the mural, not the mural itself. Since 2002 the Council has been controlled by the LibDems and Tories - just in case you didn't realise.
  17. I was surprised when my niece headed down there last night (Wednesday) - apparently not for the first time. She's off to Uni at the weekend to give you some idea of age group and has apparently, with her friends, taken to this new bar in a big way since it opened. Being the wrong side of forty and therefore irredeemably stuck in my ways I haven't tried it yet myself. Respect to Toby though for responding in such a positive manner.
  18. An application for residential units on this site went to appeal several years ago and was turned down. It's difficult to see what might have changed to suddenly make this a good idea. An application for nine units put in at the end of '04 was also withdrawn. The owner may be hoping that attrition will work in this case.

  20. Sam T Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Now that fuel is so expensive why not try some other fuel, here is the link below > > http://knowledgepublications.com/gw3h2/gw3h2_landing_selector.htm It appears to me Asset, that the car shown in the link does look like it's had acid thrown over it and I'm sure there's a drinks carton stuffed in there somewhere - so maybe it's actually a mobile ATM that's been tampered with. Reminds me of that Dads Army film when they converted a van to run on gas. What goes around....
  21. "Ferret racing" - now there's a spectacle not to be missed.
  22. > After a closer, daylight inspection, I stand by my description of "truffle". Albeit dark truffle... "Summer Truffle"
