Sugar highs don't exist in the general population, apparently. http://www.yalescientific.org/2010/09/mythbusters-does-sugar-really-make-children-hyper/ -

Drawings of the latest plans can be found here: http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk/documents/?casereference=16/AP/2978&system=DC There are drawings of the application that has already been approved and new ones as proposed under the new application. -
I was at Staines Town watching Dulwich Hamlet who, funnily enough, actually played like Barcelona - at least in the fact that they lost by two goals away from home (2-0). They were playing in the pink and pink away kit though.

Great to see a win though! I agree that improving information about beers/prices would help so that people can make a choice before getting to the front of the queue. There is a large blackboard behind the bar but it remains unused to date. The bar was very busy on Saturday (they had to restock apparently) but I think the queue was caused in part by the fact that it was understaffed. This appears to be something the club is addressing (and for which they are paying London Living Wage): http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/news/bar-staff-wanted-at-champion-hill-1710925.html The new outside bar is a great addition and a few minor teething problems are only to be expected. Sadly, no more home games until 19/11 - at least that provides time to recruit!

The game tomorrow (Saturday October 21st - 3pm) vs AFC Sudbury is the last at Champion Hill for almost a month. There will be a poppy appeal collection at the ground by the Royal British Legion as it is the last home match before Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.

Big game against Bognor Regis at Champion Hill this afternoon. The first meeting between the clubs since Dulwich beat them in the play off semi-final at their place at the end of last season. The excellent new outside bar should be in full swing too. Edited to add match preview: http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/news/todays-match-preview-bognor-regis-town-home-ko-300-1705991.html

Good idea but a complicating issue with a CGS bid at that point is that the East Dulwich Road/Adys Rd/CP Road junction is where 4 wards and 3 Community Councils meet. That may, of course, provide an opportunity as well as a challenge if each of the Community Councils is willing to chip in towards a restoration project, given the prominence of the spot. -
Bic Basher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Helen Hayes has also visited North Dulwich, Tulse > Hill, West Norwood and Gipsy Hill for her rail > passenger survey. (ED is in Harriet Harman's seat) Not (entirely) true. The boundary goes along the railway line at that point so technically the up platform is in Harriet's constituency and the down platform is in Helen's. The same is true at North Dulwich. Current draft boundary proposals, if adopted, would 'reunite' both platforms in the same constituency in each case. They would however remain split between wards. Proposals already adopted mean that East Dulwich station will be in both Goose Green ward and Champion Hill ward (currently East Dulwich and South Camberwell respectively). The situation at North Dulwich is more complicated. The entire station building at street level and the down platform will be in Dulwich Village ward whilst the up platform at track level will be in Champion Hill ward. I'll just put my anorak away.

Dulwich & W Norwood MP's response to referendum result
dc replied to worldwiser's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
d.b Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I do find the petition for a second referendum slightly disturbing. Not sure it's disturbing - just a reflection of many people's disappointment at the result. It's only a petition after all. The irony is that it was started by a leave campaigner when it looked like they would lose narrowly. And Farage, of course, said on the night: "In a 52-48 referendum this would be unfinished business by a long way." Remain supporting political representatives seem to be taking a rather more honourable approach than that in accepting the result. I agree though, that the most important thing now is the sort of deal that emerges. -
It was widely reported that the RSPB and WWF support remaining in the EU to protect British wildlife.

Surely something for which a local forum is very useful? The only pointless response in the context, given that lunch had well passed, was your own. Oh, and now mine.

North dulwich station temporary steps - does anyone know?

It is a project to replace the stairs which are unsafe (making them slightly wider in the process). No lifts will be installed. Here is a link to the relevant Network Rail document: http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk/documents/?GetDocument=%7b%7b%7b!5MSlEkj7U7G5i9CpaWEPLg%3d%3d!%7d%7d%7d -

I am not sure why it would be any different to ex-council flats? I don't think it is any different. Local authority/public sector landlords have to serve Section 20 notices.

Now through to the final. I loved the weird but wonderful mouse bank!
