  1. My son (6 last month) got the marvel version for Christmas, am not sure why you are likening it to Minecraft as I don't see any similarities at all. Having said that I know that he/we have not spent much time playing in the 'toy box' which seems to be the area where you create your own games. The set you have copied a link for only operates in toy box mode. The little we have done in toy box is really very lovely with very good tutorial, wonderful graphics and several characters. I don't think it would be frustrating, addictive maybe!!
  2. Gravity Force in Crawley... bit far but absolutely brill
  3. Our school has a policy, arranged in conjunction with board of governors, that more than 4 days unauthorized leave results in child being deregistered so check your schools policy on this.
  4. Check out (google) FSC Real Family Holidays. We did a week last year, so great going again this summer. Several different locations, activity everyday and for included.
  5. Russell at Dulwich Physio above DMC on crystal palace road. 0208 693 9930. He is brilliant!
  6. Hi charltonlad. If you click on the user name of the person you are dealing with-written in blue at the start of any post/message, then you can see their posting history. If it is a regular forum user then you are probably safe! All the best.
  7. Have a look on Etsy, lots of lovely stuff by 'tough and twisted'
  8. Have sent you PM. Website, Gingerbread, have an advice line, 0808 802 0925
  9. Southbank... Fountains are on now, (upper level) also Namco bowling/games/rides etc is inside city hall opposite the London eye. The Globe is really interesting as is the Tate Modern. Loads of street performers, carrousel, lovely gardens with a small playground. Check online and see if the changing of the guard is on at a suitable time as it's an easy short bus ride to palace from Westminster bridge next to City Hall. From the palace you are near St James Park or a bit further to Kensington Gardens and the Diana Memorial playground. Somerset House, also has fountains (call first to avoid disappointment) that puts you near Covent garden... Have fun!
  10. I don't think three hours is long enough to expect windows to be cleaned as well?
  11. I third don'tpanic. My son is an avid Stampy fan. He makes the videos especially for kids, no swearing etc and he has a very distinctive voice so even if you are not peering over their shoulder you know that they are on an age appropriate video. We have a strict policy that he can only use YouTube to watch Stampy but as he has done hundreds of videos and posts a new one most days it works out fine. I have been forced into researching the topic myself recently and have gleaned the following; Pocket editions (available on tablets), do not have red stone. Red stone is a somewhat magic ingredient that acts a bit like an electric current and can power various mechanical creations. They also cannot let you multi-play, visit friends worlds or have them visit yours. Laptops with certain graphic specs can be used but I understand that they can often make the game 'lag' (the whole world will not have loaded properly to the screen even though you are walking your character around it). PC versions have something superior to the game but it escapes me what, my son has told me... We will be settling on an Xbox 360 but happy to receive more advice?? Embrace the minecraft pickle...loads of fun x
  12. is his older brother in a position to help him out? Temporarily provide the support network in school that your younger son needs?
  13. does anyone know why there is no forthcoming information from what must be literally 100s of mobile phones onboard? I thought we could be tracked pretty much anywhere by our mobiles? Please note this is a genuine request for suggestions/discussion I don't have any theories just questions!
  14. My son loves it. Daniel and Shakira are just brilliant with the kids, its been so good for my sons confidence. I can't rate it highly enough. You can reach Shakira on 07988 060 133. Also contact details on their website, google Walters Family Taekwondo.
  15. Medieval Banquet do an earlier dinner/show on a Sunday which I took my son to last month for his fifth birthday. We all dressed up (the adults hired costumes there) and the food was pretty good. Only you know how late your two year old can tolerate to be awake without getting cranky though so it might not suit? Or, NAMCO on the Southbank for bowling and games and it's next to the Aquarium and London Eye with loads of different restaurants beside the river. Or a show and lunch/dinner. There are lots of kiddies theatre companies so you should find something. Have fun x
  16. I have the same problem/tablet, some PDFs do not open and I am not promted to make a choice on how to open just a very quick message pops up ' attachment failed to open' by no means is it everything I am sent though. I have come to believe it is to do with the version/programme being used by the sender. Try accessing email via website rather than using app. If anyone has indepth knowledge of these tablets please make yourself known... I also have questions!! x
  17. Yes there are websites, there is a membership fee but then you know the other people are also invested in the exchange working as they have also paid to join. From memory there is some kind of insurance deal as well. I haven't joined one yet but plan to so will watch this thread with interest. Recommendations for agencies/sites would be good!
  18. Mindfulness, John Kabat Zinn. You can find his stuff on youtube. Very useful in anxious moments. Southwark runs workshops but not sure if you can be referred direct from GP or if it has to be from Counselling at Maudsley. All the best.
  19. Yes first place to start is social services. I didn't find they were at all slow but that probably depends a lot on local authority. I did find it useful, even though my grandmother at 93 is totally lucid, to personally attend the meetings (sounds formal but it's just a home visit from the social worker), this is because my grandmother would massively downplay her own needs. I think this is pretty common so its important that you are there to gently remind them of falls, toilet needs etc. They will help you work out financial entitlement and contribution of any care plan you decide on. My grandmother moved to an Abbeyfield, is this something that would suit your situation or you have considered? Alongside this she has a carer from an agency to come in every morning, just for twenty mins, to make sure she is up, make the bed and breakfast. The thing I have been most worried about is her care from her GP so also make sure you have GP details and call them directly if there is anything you are concerned about. Good luck, it is really difficult to know what to do for the best so hope it works out for you. Karen.
  20. Pickle...science boffin? Please share the details, what? Who? Cost? Ta x
  21. Its highly unlikely that working folk can make any sort of 6 pm meeting and children are eating at that time. Patients shouldn't have to go to such lengths for a decent service. If people prefer to complain via here/general NHS complaint system or however, it's absolutely their prerogative to do so.
  22. Can I ask how much? Recently looked into a party at The Golden Hinde. Twenty kids ?360 no food included. Still not managed to pick my jaw up off the floor! Hence looking for alternatives!
  23. We love mouse trap but its an awful pain to set up.
  24. Oh they are quite nice. Very reasonably priced. Thanks
