  1. Gavin/Renata, the old equipment being relocated to the side of the one o'clock club looks like it is going to make a cohesive and well organised play space that users should be able to continue to enjoy but PLEASE sort out the tap and water channel. The tap has not been on since the playground opening day, such a waste of money, I'm not sure if this is due to complaints from club users that children were getting wet or because the further part of the channel SLOPES UP HILL???? and so water is backing up and flooding around the little bridge area.
  2. phew, nothing to worry about then, silly me.
  3. If anyone knows of an anti-riot protest suitable for me to take my son to then please post details here. If not would anyone be interested in meeting for a peace picnic this afternoon?
  4. ahh, good news, oh to be royal...
  5. kiss goodbye to that sunday free parking.....
  6. We had exactly the same thing (son is 2 1/2), in the end I dropped nap and he went from having 2/3 hour afternoon naps to no naps at all in the space of a week. Best thing I ever did, bed time is a dream and he will fall asleep while I comb his hair at 7/7.30 depending on how many activities we have done that day. I was dreading dropping the nap as I really valued that time to myself in the afternoon but it has worked out really well.
  7. JAGS have a baby booters drop in football club on sats and sundays (I think but we have only ever been on a sat at 11am) No need to book, just go along. Also on sat 9.15 and 10am is a drop in trampoline club (earlier session probably best for your sons age group). Both activities are fantastic for active little boys.
  8. no, not the same one then...sorry, I see from the time of your post it must be really bothering you. You could call RSPCA as its also an issue of animal welfare.
  9. post in the family room for a better reponse
  10. And oddly the pump that will send the water down the little stream thingy is actually inside the fence of one o'clock playground?? So mums at the one o'clock club will either be getting cross that their kids are soaking wet from pumping water or that kids not at the club will be running in and out of its gate to work the pump?? Madness.
  11. yes one o'clock club right next to cafe, it will be open from 10.30 am during the summer. Think that rye oak has returned to a drop in but we haven't been for ages so can't remember the timetable. Don't think that there are children's centres in the schools you have mentioned. Also dulwich pool will have much more time for general swimmers during summer hols as well.
  12. whoever thought of putting a one hundred piece orchestra on level nine of the peckham multi-plex cinema car-park and combining it with a children's workshop...GENIUS! We went this afternoon but there is still one more chance to see it, this eve at eight o'clock, get a baby sitter, you won't be dissappointed!!
  13. Think your nearest centres would be at rye oak primary or ivydale.
  14. can you be a bit more specific location wise as there is often one near me but not sure if its the one you mean.
  15. no, its not your imagination, the time keeping is awful!
  16. James, I think ianr is suggesting that he can see no basis for you to state that this individuals objections should have cost tens of thousands of pounds to resolve? Surely if council officers have kept organised and rigorous records of financial dealings then it shouldn't really matter when they are asked to make them available?
  17. I also thought The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns were excellent, The Slap, was however, just very annoying.
  18. please ladies don't take your kids to ruskin pool, I was there a couple of weeks ago when they turned on two of the corner taps which spewed forth the most toxic, brown, stinky sludge I have ever seen. Unless the pool has been 'deep cleaned' since then I would not consider it safe to play. (There was no sign of any sort of cleaning beyond sweeping sludge into central drain when we were there).
  19. Jags do trampoline classes for his age group on sat mornings at 9am or 10am for 45mins (when I say classes there is no structure they just get to bounce on real trampolines) then at 11am is baby booters which is a football club also suitable for his age group. All classes are on a drop in basis, don't need to be a member, trampoline ?5 per session and football ?3.50. My son loves it and by mid-day I have a semi-compliant toddler, too exhausted to be naughty!
  20. Information sheets available from club today said that govt funding will be reduced by a third next year and withdrawn completly the year after. Council is looking at other funding/operating options and suggested in the info that this could be either through volunteers/user groups, charities or the facilities co-opted into local children centre control. I have para-phrased wildly as only read the info once, sorry!
  21. we have met him in the park, he is really friendly and happy to stop and have a chat and let people pet the bird. So cute!
  22. my virgin connection always plays up when it rains heavily, really shabby stuff
  23. cafe are putting up a screen, details in 'whats on' section.
  24. annaloo9, I'm not sure that implying linzkg, alibo and palehound are liars is really doing your cause any favours and as an observer to this thread I can tell you it is yourself who seems to have an agenda? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion based upon the information they have gathered and as such what you have said is just plain rude.
  25. engraved childrens cultlery, its a keepsake or practical and easy to send.
