  1. over goose green today some oik let his nasty brute of a dog free in the the dog-free part of the park. A woman walking by tried to point out that it was the dog free zone. He basically told her to mind her own. The signs showimg that it is dog-free are down. That dog ran around like a mad-thing barking and snarling at other dogs and people. Wanted to shout "oi, get that pig out of there" I would, of course, have been shouting it at the dog
  2. A new forum became competition...
  3. *eyes the "sport" on view from ringside seat with bewilderment* *not that much of a spectacle - more non-league than premiership* *on balance, wishes the seat came at a price and the beer was free* *slinks off to turn on the showers - gestures to MW and Jah*
  4. Yes, Bob - and I have to admit that I use that other Tyre shop near the station because of the reasons cited. Easier to park out of the way.
  5. When the forum became dull and boring
  6. *Mud wrestling in baby oil* *walks back out and checks the door* *yup - this is the right room - maybe just not the right time* *that MadWorld is a true maverick spirit* *pass the ringside seats!*
  7. Shame that the Tyre shop is ceasing to trade - though a tyre shop right there, on the high street, right on the corner with a side road could cause an obstruction: punters often parking accross the drop-down, doing odd little bits of reverse parking onto the sidewalk. I used that guy too - would have been nice if he could have moved into one of the residential streets. citizen
  8. Tillie, I popped down to Dulwich Park yesterday with my little boy and could not find you. We were there around 3. Had you gone to the Dog by then? citizen
  9. OK, he bought them, but they weren't successful. He could have picked up Owen when he came back from Real. He could have tried for Bent this summer - Andy Johnson? Don't get me wrong - I worship Wenger, but there is just that tiny little piece of the footballing jigsaw that he seems to overlook, a sniffer to thunk the ball it the net.
  10. And the Ritzy is not all that far for that special occasion. it is a real gem. citizen
  11. BTW that was me posting - just using someone elses laptop *ahem* and not bothering to log in. whoops citizen
  12. Why-o-why does Arsene make things difficult for himself by playing without a goalscorer?
  13. *using sign-langauge, gestures agreement to Asset - the ADHD tendency is growing* *using crystal ball, peeks into the future of the QR* *people doing crossword puzzles, rumination, a spot of navel gazing* *pours a long white wine spritzer* *settles back with a positive grin*
  14. Once had a letter arrive to our house addressed to Easterlidge. Still got here though - being properly postcoded. citizen
  15. STOP PRESS! i just found a word on Urban Dictionary the definition of which was not rude.
  16. Was there a little earlier today and bumped into Mark (hadn't seen his post this morning) and had very civilised Tea and cake. Excellent. In my best spammish, this place I can heartily recommend. Very, very nice. citizen
  17. It is tough to talk about the killing of the little lad in Croxteth at the moment - what with it being such a raw issue at the moment, but I guess people will have their opinions about the current crime situation - that's why Huguenot's post was so important, it gives some perspective to the media's kneejerk reaction. citizen
  18. Yes Sean, you are missing something - the text under the foto says "..staff at the Greyhound Pan in Dulwich Village.." so I guess it could bwe the Dog...
  19. Being a big softie my heart always leaps a little whenever I see anyone holding hands. If I see two guys or two girls doing it then I think that my life is getting better - its good to know that this area is considered liberal enough. citizen
  20. Thanks Capt - where is the West Dulwich dump?
  21. I like this new and interesting thread. Don't think the forum needs any changes. It's like a pub - some regulars chip in on most things, some folks pop in from time to time to make a comment or joke, some serious debate rages in the corner, (the standard of which seems high considering this is, after all, just a pub ), a new development in ED is much discussed. All's well. The way to alter the Forum is to post stuff. Get your opinion in quick - or get it in slowly and bring a thread back on topic if its veered off-topic. Sometimes you "lose" a thread, ie it goes somewhere you didn't want it to go - but that is just life. I probably agree that some ED gossip stuff spirals off-topic too quickly but should it be policed? Perhaps Sean's idea of PMing culprits is the best hands-off way of achieving this. The Drawing Room: I can see that attraction but then part of the attraction of the forum is that debates grow in an organic manner, just as conversations do in real life. citizen PS - I agree with your observation Tom - I guess it's down to it being August - I'm guessing lots of people post at work, during the day, and during the summer more people are away from their desks. I anticipate a surge of interest in the Autumn
  22. thanks for info, peeps - Ant, I ran up to Sainsbos prior to posting and their recycling centre doesn't have a place for books - neither does the one at Belair Park. Tillie, I've got three boxes of them - but they aint novels, they're mainly textbooks and popular science/psychology stuff (so not sure how appreciated they would be in an old folks home). I agree that books shouldn't go to the graveyard. If you want a rummage (so to speak) PM me. citizen ps Ok so I didn't literaly run up to Sainsbos with three boxes of books - I drove.
  23. Ten to seven - that's pretty young to have come out...
  24. A new place did a nice line in cake
  25. ser funny Mockney - but serious business and one should refrain from humour 'til a few more posts have been made, surely. Thanks for the stats Huguenot
