  1. Ah, does it Andrew - I must confess I've never paid the Zone 3 premium. I wonder if the ticket reads 'by any reasonable route' and would overcome this Zone 3 fug? I even sit in First Class, as everyone else is too polite, or like to hug each other, or something.
  2. Bloody cats have gone and dug up my our bloody hot chilli peppers to replace them with little effing messages. Cats should wear bells in order to allow my sound-guided chaingun garden accessory to turn them into a pretty Jackson Pollock of red and pink textured smears.
  3. Oh indeedy! :)) Happiest Yoda in the world I am! La Preghiera was apparently the 5th best place to get married in the world, according to last year's Independent. As DM would say, Tuscany is so last year Magical day is 9th June. Honeymoon in SA. Got to buy a bloody impressive wildlife lens for the camera as special treat. Mockers, which one should I get? Harrumph. No dancing emoticon. :))

    gay girlies

Hmmm... Can only offer a bright smile :)), but sufficient as temporary support methinks!
  5. Oh, monkeys all. I do this every day and arrive before I left. ED station to Tulse Hill and direct to F'don. Alternatively Denmark Hill to Blackfriars, walk or train to F'don.
  6. I could of course tell the tale of irresponsible bus drivers who were known to attach to meat pie wrappers to the transmitter which gave the bus position. This ensured that the impromptu coffee breaks and erratic working hours (which may otherwise have been identified and curtailed) blended seamlessly into an 'apparently' dysfunctional system. No ghost buses those, and no dysfunctional system. Just a quick sarnie. That cannot, of course, account for the steady stream of buses arriving from another dimension at untimely moments. ;-)
  7. Yay! New Streetcar in Friern Road Ya da da dada... Just here!
  8. Pedants.:)) Kathryn, if you can't manage a B&B because the capital outlay + capital gains tax makes it unattractive, one could make a few bucks by creating a local 'spare room community'. There would be a website, which would organise payment online, and of course be the focal point for the bookings and an insurance service perhaps. The site could charge a 10% service fee, and act as some sort of arbiter (like a 'star' rating) to allocate prices based on size and facilities?
  9. Damn... even the retailers are conspiring against unhealthy living!! ;-)
  10. Am I right in understanding that there's some tax efficiency with mortgages and B&B, in that the interest on the mortgage can be set back against tax? Could be an effective 'sideline' business in that respect: secondary income, like...?
  11. Have you been at the sherbert lemons again F'n'B?
  12. Yep, me too, Constant Gardener, just being absent minded :)
  13. Ah, Jah how can you not I wouldn't take fashion advice from me either.
  14. I didn't really feel that the film of 'The Secret Gardener' did the book much justice. I found it incredibly moving. Ladies never seem to go for John Le Carre books much but this one's a bit of a love story at heart. Recommmended!
  15. Quite true, you can get them at newsagents... However!!! Has anyone tried the online renewal? After staggering through their clunky system, it informed me that what I'd bought wouldn't 'appear' on the card until I'd been through a gate at a tube station. However, not one to enjoy being informed I didn't bother reading it. So, I took my usual journey via London Bridge overground, and then got clobbered for a penalty fare. Fug that. Never again.
  16. and now searches for words as a quid pro quo Bah! Humbug - your was quicker and better :))
  17. Incidentally Mockers, it was Robert Vaughn that we failed to identify the other day. Tragically I can find no haunting melodies as evidence of his musical prowess.
  18. My Gran always recommended picking them off one at a time with a pair of tweezers and carrying them round the corner... 100% hit rate...
  19. Good heavens, you guys just don't know how to have fun!
  20. lol
  21. *ponders whether an aggrogator is like an alligator with an antagonistic edge*
  22. Darling! I can believe you don't know Scott's of Mayfair? ;-)
  23. Went to Claridges the other day... wasn't all that ;-) However, Scott's was exceptional.
  24. All sounds very fishy. Why would a company that didn't need money give away shares by IPO before their 'true' value had been realised? Why would a confident and reliable US company launch themselves on the scarcely-regulated AIM market 5000 miles away instead of their own more regulated ones? Why would amateurs in leafy south London have a better grasp of this company's potential than dedicated professional tech analysts? All these questions...
  25. Ah Polly, you're very sweet, but really I'm the only sad b@stard who can be bothered to look it up ;-)
