  1. Dulwich sports club has a very active junior section.
  2. I did manage this yesterday.trick was a power walk first thing.home.shower.do all the ironing then eat at 11am.it was bearable but miso sachet soup is revolting.
  3. I wonder if there is any possibility that if people who would traditionally have more manual jobs- and therefore used to eating more calories, just have not been able to adjust their eating habits to the fact that they are not working manually and not using up so many calories? I know I eat far too much and have to do sport to keep up with my love of food( with limited success) :(
  4. Wow KK you are a right one aren't you?? Are you coming out to us as a spy/ ex- spy?
  5. DOnt you feel faint headed about lunchtime?
  6. I dont think Herne Hill, Loughborough Junction or Tulse Hill are more affluent suburbs.
  7. I rang a scrap dealer and asked if he would buy my old steel bath- he said yeah - where are you?- leave it out and Ill take a look at it and make you an offer I went out and left builders here- 45 mins later he was here - told builders it wasn't worth much but would take it off our hands- it was gone. Also there are people in vans driving round ALL the time looking for scrap/ nickable stuff. You see them screech to a halt if they see a skip - rifle through it and move off with a handful of stuff.
  8. if its a steel bath it will be taken just leave it visible
  9. Alan Medic He just saves them all gets them a little wet and presses them all together with his hands. All good if you use the same soap, but when I lived at home there would be "shield"- do they still make it- mixed with "lux" and others.
  10. would roseberys auctions touch it?
  11. If your parents lived thorugh world war 2 and rationing this still has a huge influence on them. My Dad is 87 and last time I saw him all the scraps of soap were in a saucer in the windowsill ready to be made into a bigger soap tablet...
  12. It sounds like you have first class medical care as I don't think many of us have a routine urine test. It must be a worry but as it is microscopic and been picked up and dr is sending you for a scan you have to trust that the medical service can look after you. I don't know the statistics but in my experience every time - bar one-the dr has been worried about me or my family and we have gone for scans/ further tests it has all been fine. On the one occasion where this was not the case I had a very quick treatment and regular check ups and all is well 25 years later. x
  13. Marmora Man- are you kidding us?? Doesn't it make you feel all nice inside knowing he is 66 and produced this?? I know you must be old enough to " be there" first time round. You are posting like a teenager ;)
  14. no I did not know that- how much more exactly?
  15. I like the idea but not the price. I would not pay more for organic. I care more about the freedom given to the animals while they are alive than to whether it is organic or not.
  16. Argos is easier than Ikea and not dissimilar.IMO. Esp as you cant get to the Croydon one at the mo with the water mains burst.
  17. everyone in the photo looks scarily the same .
  18. water can condense in a chimney breast- could it be coming from the chimney?
  19. I doubt any of them can cut down a tree.
  20. getting care for 30 mins is not feasible. BUT getting a cleaner / ironing person for 2x 2.5 hours slots etc is. Its not full on childcare -more taxiing and holding. ie get to yours and take to nursery and then return to yours and clean- or end of the day clean at yours for a few hours and then collect child and return to yours. Just an idea
  21. I thought it was blackberrys at this age? my son has one on a monthly contract since he was 15. he gets very little pocket momey and has to do certain chores to pay for the rental, bins/ recycling/ ironing/cooking a meal occasionally etc.I am sure the contract is less than ?20 a month.
  22. itatm Thats just how my Dad is too- :(
  23. I think its not that common to have elderly family living nearby- ours are in Norfolk and Scotland. We certainly will not be living in London when we retire- like many our house is our pension and we will move out and release some capital to live on ;) I do know a few people in a similar position to you but their parents are generally stubborn and hard to manipulate/ change their ways. Is church any good?
