I like the idea but not the price. I would not pay more for organic. I care more about the freedom given to the animals while they are alive than to whether it is organic or not.

Argos is easier than Ikea and not dissimilar.IMO. Esp as you cant get to the Croydon one at the mo with the water mains burst. -

Childcare issue - advice please

getting care for 30 mins is not feasible. BUT getting a cleaner / ironing person for 2x 2.5 hours slots etc is. Its not full on childcare -more taxiing and holding. ie get to yours and take to nursery and then return to yours and clean- or end of the day clean at yours for a few hours and then collect child and return to yours. Just an idea -
I thought it was blackberrys at this age? my son has one on a monthly contract since he was 15. he gets very little pocket momey and has to do certain chores to pay for the rental, bins/ recycling/ ironing/cooking a meal occasionally etc.I am sure the contract is less than ?20 a month.

I think its not that common to have elderly family living nearby- ours are in Norfolk and Scotland. We certainly will not be living in London when we retire- like many our house is our pension and we will move out and release some capital to live on ;) I do know a few people in a similar position to you but their parents are generally stubborn and hard to manipulate/ change their ways. Is church any good?

If you have ever got to Victoria mainline station at 8.20 am and thought you could just get on the victoria line- believe me its not that easy- queues/ platforms closed until queues clear. It can take at least 10 mins from getting off the train to getting on to the victoria line train north bound.:(

steveo - how did you cook your pheasants? they are great value but I dont know how to stop them being dry. Did you casaserole them?

I said no to "halal turkey" and went for the vegetarian option at a recent xmas meal. I don't actually like turkey, but realise I don't really know what halal means in terms of animal welfare or pain involved in slaughter. Can anyone help? For example I would only buy free range chicken - but does halal chicken mean its free range too? is all halal meat now stunned before slaughter? Thanks

I find this whole thing makes me feel sick. If true it makes you wonder how these people are so sick . Were they like that and drawn to showbizz? or did the culture of showbizz make them think this was normal? Or it this just representive or " society! at that time?

I am pretty sure you will- but your peer group has to be the same- no good them showing you their new stuff all the time-unless you can retaliate with home made something that costed little but you spent HOURS making. :/

Personally, I think the quicker you realise material things are not important( up to a point) the happier you will be. A lot of unhappiness is to do with wanting things you cannot have/ covet. Afraid to say it took redundancy and being 50 for me to realise this.
