  1. ?80? Sounds like a ROger Pope price to me. I am not an optician but you often see them offering free trials- esp the bigger ones. They are much better than they were( assume you mean daily disposables?) if you like them you can get cheaper on line eg contact lenses direct. I would shop around before forking out ?80.
  2. my son was a paper boy last summer- refiel cover while his mate on holiday- def still are paper boys. if you are up early- 6.30-7am ish your see them riding around, Se21/se24/se22.
  3. we are going to Istanbul soon and have been recommended The Other Tour- pricey but apparently VERY good.
  4. when I first came to London I rented a room cheaply - about 40% less than the going rate and babysat one night a week- mid week. I think if you targeted the right place you could do well - I have also met au pairs who "lived Out" from thier family at another family owned house. Moving house costs so much money.
  5. your best market for the room would be a nanny with a live out position- you MIGHT get a reduced rate in exchange for her babysitting one night a week?
  6. About 7 years ago it was gardening ( seceturs/ shears), since then it has been tennis and this summer writing on a white board when teaching.
  7. I just wondered if anyone has any top tips for curing this? I have in the past had chinese medicine/acupuncture/ physio/ cortisone injections. Cortisone injections are successful in the short-term but it keeps coming back. I have read that the more injections you have the less effective they are :(
  8. my best presents at this age were the lady next door who did not have children made me a special box decorated with my name on it and full of straw/ cotton wool with lots of little things in- well Sindy clothes and bubble bath anyway! maybe a ladybird book. The box was always a cardboard box painted with my name and it is so obvious to me now that she loved me to pieces and wished she could have children. It must have taken her a while but it was always SO special. it might be a bit labour intensive for 4 children but its just an idea.
  9. But we all know which schools will get the best academic results because they are the hardest to get into. If you start with very motivated results driven children and parents then this is what you will get- give or take the cases of anorexia / breakdown / depression on the way. It is ridiculous to look at the results wihtout realising that they are a result of what is fed into each school in the first place. AS a nation we are not obsessed at all, it is just small pockets of people who have a choice , especially in London who are obsessed. Money of course gives you more choice.
  10. dep. what you want but maybe a student house in a seaside resort? may be empty mid june to early October? you would have to ask local letting agents to find out more. you can def do a seasonal let in a european ski resort. not sure you would be interested in a static caravan?
  11. These 2 schools are very selective in their intake. 14th or 19th nationally would not be a reason to choose between the 2. If your child it lucky enough to get in they will probably do very well academically. There are other things to consider and I don't think 14th or 19th would be a consideration for anyone as to choice. Issues such as single sex/ mixed/ facilities/ sports/ music/ ethos are more important at this end of the tables.
  12. if you were an estate agent and you had 2 flats to sell at the same commission rate and one vendor said they would pay you a ?250 cash bonus for selling their flat wouldn't you try that little but harder? or you could say to them you will pay extra to have your property in the local papers / website as the property of the week. its just business. Its how people work.
  13. No dissing Brad-I'm sure he was clean.
  14. you can get a cheap set from sainsburys with a marker pen that you just iron on. If for little children they grow so quick the sewing on is hard work.
  15. Addy, try and link this to the recommended / business section if you can, I am sure lots of people would like you to come for a few hours and work your way through their shirts etc. Good luck.
  16. Addy is a lovely ironer- a little slow but ironed to perfection. Very tidy and polite. Recommend him.
  17. Addy- are you coming this morning to iron?
  18. you could always offer a personal cash bonus to whichever negotiator completed a sale on it within Hart.
  19. We went to see the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime last night at the National. I think it may have sold out, but if you get a chance to see it , it is brilliant. As well as the amazing acting, the set/ lighting/ choreography/ sound are brilliant.
  20. I think the new mattress is a relatively new piece of advice and lots of other people would be intersted in it. Maybe a womans refuge, or if you are handy then cover it and make a big cushion for outside?
  21. must be.thanks.
