  1. I dont know - if they paid for you to go there it might be quite nice??
  2. Hmmm. I wonder if Tony Blair ever thinks about this.
  3. i wonder if you can make a phone work so that she can only call a few people ( family) and then for all other numbers she has to out a code in?then the sheltered carers could come and activate the code for her? in supermarkets there is a phone where you can only call the taxi- so must be possible? I do sympathise.
  4. I don't want more libraries- I just want to retain them-and open at the fantastic hours that Lordship Lane is- they are great - access to a pc- wi fi- and all those books which young children need.
  5. LIBRARIES LIBRARIES LIBRARIES
  6. I do hate fussy adult eaters ! Recently met a vegetarian( ok) who did not like broccoli, olives or tomatoes OMG talk about hard work. Not allergic just did not like. She was from New York- and then her Mum did not like sauces or spicy food AGGHHHHHH.

  10. Ask what is their policy about going into parks where there maybe dogs off their leads.
  11. Hobby craft- its past Ikea on the opposite side and maybe near an Argos/ TKmax/Habitat ( might be where the latter was)
  12. From the Indie "Conservative MP Nadine Dorries. Conservative MP Nadine Dorries has already arrived in Australia in preparation for her appearance on I?m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! While David Cameron is unlikely to mind losing Nadine Dorries to the Australian jungle for up to a month as the Conservative MP competes in I?m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, the public (not least her Bedfordshire constituents) might take a different view. Dorries, who has already arrived in Queensland for the show, has refused to forego her parliamentary salary for the period, meaning that she'll receive as much as ?5,478 during her time on the programme (as well as expenses of around ?3,218), in addition to a fee of up to ?40,000." When I worked full time I was allowed 2 weeks paid leave in one go maximum. maybe 3 weeks if getting married. How can she get away with this? Surely she has to ask someone first? If Parliament cannot manage this then there should be an independent panel - preferably including people that work for companies as diverse as Ryanair and Poundland to oversee their employment contracts and explain you cannot walk away from the poeple you represent like this- she didn't even tell her constituency. We know from Louise Mencher that leaving employment as an MP is not possible- its time to overhaul it. Especially their pensions !
  13. I really like the candle idea- I expect I will have to go to the big craft place near ikea and stock up? Darling Kirsty was on Womans Hour this morning telling us that these shops make crafts SO much more affordable.
  14. err it was in the first post? ;)
  15. ditto Rosie. But Gu is on special offer at Sainsburys..... I wonder if I could use them to make bird feeders- mix fat and seeds in? not sure how relatives would find that asa xmas present though. The seasoned salt sounds good but I am not sure it will last that long?
  16. katie1997 - are you really Kirsty Allsop? off to the garden shed to experiment with wire........
  17. I have about 14 of them now and thats a lot of things to wash up KK. I wondered if I could make some kind of food and give it away in them as Xmas presents. Not very good for jam- but maybe something else that lasts?

  19. I seem to have rather a lot of these lovely little glass ramekin dishes which seem too nice to recycle.I'm sure I should be doing something crafty/ Christmas gifty with them. Anyone have any ideas they are willing to share?
  20. She has obviously decided to jack in politics or knows her days are numbered and has decided to become a "personality" now, which will be her future career. Pathetic. I hope whe will not be drawing an MP's salary while in the jungle.
  21. sorry I thought you were an optician. I expect a Dr would not want to admit to it on here. :\
  22. I know I know its just that some dog owners are So virtuous after their dog walking they could spend their time with a human being. I've been badly bruised by dogs running at me chasing something/ another dog, had to change trousers , had trousers slathered over by clients labradors -and trod on their poo. I do walk friends dogs occasionally and keep them on the lead/ pick up the poo, and I wish them no harm. You have me on a bad day first mate. Still I do think some people could benefit from treating others as well as they treat dogs.
  23. Ok-Otta what can i do to prevent pingueculae getting worse?
  24. If only dog owners could give their love to a lonely / isolated person instead of a dog.
  25. I would have agreed with you on this but some of the threads on this forum say - I let my child choose which school they went to - so for example if your child is lucky enough to get into alleyns and also charter and you offer them a choice and they choose alleyns, does that abdicate you as a parent and the responsablity lies with your child? Many of us we just went to the local school like all our friends. Money makes it more complicated doesn't it?
