I confess I used to buy milk at Sainsburys- about 10 pints a week. Where should I buy to be sure that the milk producers get a fair price- does it have to be the co-op or is there anywhere else local? thanks

  8. As a former employer of au pairs I can only agree. I have had several au pairs crying in the kitchen to me because their family treats them like a slave. I have had to comfort them and occasionally allow them to stay here with my own au pair. I have to say that for some families who are not British ,they come from a culture where slavery/ subservience is the way of things. These families are usually blacklisted by reputable au pair agencies.

  19. I think cheerios have a lot of sugar in - as do 90% of breakfast cereals.I managed to keep my eldest son on porridge but my youngest son had every sugar cereal possible as he was never hungry in the morning and I tried everything. BRan flakes- if I can't eat them I dont expect my children to - Fruit and fibre is nicer but I suspect its full of sugar too.
  20. If your pension statement says your pension is worth 10% less this year that last year, despite you increasing the size of it by 5%- then investing in property is a good long term bet. There are of course risks, but medium to long term it is a winner.
