  1. How lovely it was, when going round an art gallery in Florence, to see the security guard in one room give up his seat to a woman to breastfeed. She was there quietly feeding away- and it was lovely to see- w, no need to hide in a corner of the room or the toilets. Of course there were many breasts on the walls anyway, but it was just so lovely.:)
  2. but its lent Peckham Rose, 16 days to go for me aaahhhh...............
  3. sounds fun, but why is Victoria P.calling herself a girl?? she is a woman surely?
  4. yes but kids do leave things out, and they do get pinched. Just a warning- to parents to try and learn from this sorry incident to try and teach the children to make a point of lookng after their things.I'm not saying make it scary, but just learn together.
  5. Basically you have to assume there is a criminal on every street corner, it starts with scooters, but eventually it is bikes and mobiles. It is a good ( but sad) lesson to learn at an early age.
  6. I'm sure I am not the only person who cant leave London because local radio out of London is so dire.Alan Partridge etc
  7. try peckham rose. im sure she will post later.

  10. the irony was the cafe in the park was so full that we decided to go the picture gallery cafe instead- for a treat- ho hum.We willtake a flask next time!
  11. The food here is good- but the service is so surly and rude. We ordered earl grey pot for 2 today and after we poured it and tasted it we realised it was english breakfast tea- and only one teabag and smaller than the next table's pot for 2 - and was a pot for one. when we complained they gave us another pot but with one tea bag in- we complained again and they took it away and returned it but not one sorry to be heard. WHy cant staff be more gracious? Take me back to Las Vegas, where service is service not something that has to be done by reluctant staff.
  12. I think you should try and avoid giving her attention when she is naughty- try a naughty step , but just walking away as much as you can is better ( oh so easy to say this I know!) versus ful on attention and priase when they do something good.
  13. something to do with the reception for radio fours new 3 d radio?
  14. i wonder if it is something to do with concrete/asbestos? some large council blocks will eventually need some massive repairs that could cost anything from ?5k to ?20k per flat.if the lenders think the applicant cant afford it they will be left with the bill. on the othere hand as others have said it could be the subsidence thing.can you look on the land registry website and seehow many flats have sold there and for how much?
  15. check out maternity alliance- they are clued up on this.
  16. you would be surprised- once you see their textbook with one worked example- you will be off again in a flash;-)
  17. yes they do - and you can look by yourself in year 10- but we are too late- or next year- but I think some have entry exams around xmas time!! ( private schools anyway) state school usually just say you need certain gcse grades. the main reasons are IB/ a levels, single sex/ mixed school, state v private.
  18. Katy I did not know that about vectors- maybe we should start a thread on what helps with what- ifya know whatImean- although I love factorising equations anyway- dont ask me why.........
  19. Maths is logic and you might not think so but it is about learning and rememebering processes. this is useful for lots of things in later life- just part of following an argument through and being analytical. if you are lucky enough to have a parent that uses maths everyday ( structural engineer for example) that helps enormously, otherwise I think you mum was quite helpful. there is a hugegap between gcse and a level maths though. i love trigonometry - but we are on vectors now and I always struggled with them.......... At least they dont have to use log books any more-
