Molly what second language are you looking for in a bilingual nursery?

No I have not - but then again my three always WANTED to get dressed, it was a normal start of the day, same as brushing your hair, brushing your teeth, so it's never been a problem. The OP was asking about her 20 month old and screaming, punching, kicking sounds a bit severe.

I wouldn't give a 20 month old a choice about what they're going to wear or to get themselves dressed. I would have been waiting half an hour otherwise to get out! It's good for them to be independent but not to the extent that it's making your life harder. Plenty of time for that in a year or two. Couldn't you get your daughter dressed as soon as she wakes up, not saying anything about getting dressed and putting clothes on, maybe talking about where you are going, i.e. nursery, toddler group?

Mrs TP - please don't worry about your soon to be Year 7 child not taking a mobile to secondary school. My two girls (in Year 8 and Year 11) have never taken a mobile to school. I have an older son (19) who also never took a mobile to school. Maybe this was because they are just a 5 minute walk from their secondary school, but also because I will not let them take one anyway (but they don't want to anyway) relying on their ipods when they get home! I can understand your worries about travelling. When I look back how did me and my sisters cope in the 70s with getting 2 buses there and back to school? Times change but only you can decide how dependent mobiles have made us.

Often see a heron in Sunray Park on the lake and also 4/5 terrapins basking on logs. Yesterday I spotted the heron and also this terrapin on its own. Googled it and think it is a red eared slider.

Hi nabz - there are a few zumba classes on the What's On section but I would check with them first before doing any energetic exercise.

Hi nabz - is there a Zumba class anywhere near you? An hour at Zumba and healthy eating throughout the week has done it for me since January. I've been to Zumba tonight (St Saviours Church, Herne Hill Road) and it's done the trick. Done Weight Watchers in the past but there's not many of them about now - probably been taken over by Zumba classes.

Wondered where newmother had disappeared to. Getting back to the OP - nabz did ask about nurseries but I chipped in to give some advice so maybe the thread did change. nabz I don't know what horror stories you've heard recently, but us childminders are not that bad, really! I could say the same with a lot of nurseries, but live and let live.
