I don't think Rafa is going to be judged by what happens in the Europa League Great second equalizer by West Ham - hope they manage to stay up

WTF is Rafa Benitez playing at bringing off Torres with 30 minutes left! Trying to finish in top 4 and he does that just tells me all he is interested in is beefing up his European CV for his next job rather than what is best for Liverpool FC.

More rush hour trains from ED to LB
matthew123 replied to matthew123's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Looks like they've moved them to 8.33 and 8.45 Apart from more regular departures thus less crowded - the new trains such as the 8.27 and 7.57 will be arriving at Peckham Rye just minutes after other trains pass Peckham so should be a lot more comfortable in the event of standing. -
SP you are a sick dog! Out of Chelsea and Arsenal I'd prefer Chelsea win title - so Rafa can clutch his last straw that it's money that has won title! ::o

I didn't think it was a pen on Park - on first inspection it appeared he'd lost control of the ball. Although Sky kept running their low angle shots (rather than the grandstand camera) so it did look like he was still in control they also appeared to show Park sticking his body into the defender to make the most of the challenge. Anyway, great stoppage time winner from Bendtner for the Gunners. 90+4 !

New Parking Restrictions East Dulwich Road

Right, I was thinking of the main road - rather than the minor road! But as you can see something had to be done about the access - and I guess it was a case of either restrict parking or widen road at expense of Goose Green... I know what I'd have preferred if I was a resident on that little road with a car. View Larger Map -

Watched an Arsenal game on telly few weeks back, might have been when they demolished Porto 4-0, and Nasri played in the Fabregas role very well so maybe not quite the armageddon moment for Arsenal. Let us hope for the pride of English football it is not Sol Campbell that now replaces Gallas at the Nou Camp next week as they might have to wheel the geriatric off the pitch in a wheelbarrow if Messi makes up for his sub-par 1st leg performance.

Have had an email from Southern Railways saying that from 24th May there will be new departures during rush hour to London Bridge. So no longer 20 minute delays if you just miss the 7.29 a.m. or 8.15 a.m. ! 06:12 06:39 06:55 07:05 07:15 07:29 07:34 07:46 07:57 08:04 08:14 08:27 08:33 08:45 08:59 09:04

How about this chap?

Damn no trains from ED! Considering the number of ppl that board these trains back and forth between ED and LB it does seem the powers that be have no idea how important the station is for local folk. Somehow the snow did not effect me getting into LB whatsoever this winter (re: e-dealer comment). Although one morning it was coming down so thick I thought I'd better rush and catch 7.30 a.m before it did become crippled... and not sure whether anyone has mentioned this previously but there were about 4 railway staff on both ED platforms shovelling away the snow at a good pace so at least a big effort was made for ED on that occasion.

Mick let it go. Great game and yes Barcelona had Arsenal shaking in that first 10 minutes. At the one point it looked like Arsenal players were hiding behind each other as Barca camped outside the box spraying circus balls back and forth over the chumps in red shirts. But then.. after 20 minutes the Arsenal started to build and gain confidence although they were still firmly second best. Overall though IMO it did not have the excitement and atmosphere from last night's clash in Munich.

Oops, I must have been looking at the wrong screen because the Swiss are actually 2.44 to qualify from group.. but still a marginally better bet. Chile finished 2nd in the South American qualifiers which is no mean feat (behind Brazil) so I guess that is why they are 1.83 to qualify from Group H ahead of Switzerland. Chile are also used to playing at high altitude so may have an advantage when they play their group match versus Spain at Loftus Versfeld, so might even win group.
-
Switzerland are 12/1 on Betfair to qualify from their group - that is your best bet, much higher bang for your buck than closing it out by Laying it off based on them qualifying from Group. Straight bet ?10 @ 12/1 = ?120 profit Close it Out Back ?10 @ 330 = ?3,290 profit then Lay it off after qualification: - Lay ?13 @ 250 = ?3,237 liability and make ?3 profit
-
But likes of Switzerland maybe considered to have even less chance of winning WC (if they get out of group) if likes of Spain or Brazil start racking up cricket scores in group stages.
-
The group Brazil are in (Portugal & Ivory Coast) may mean Spain v Brazil is done in first knockout round if Brazil come 2nd in their group and Spain first in their group (which is one of weakest). The winner of the Spain knockout game is likely to face Italy in QF.

Well Rooney looks in good shape after last night's match..
-
Errr, that transcript has been edited SP.. This is the actual interview on Sky after the match, go to 1m 10s for when he is corrected. No big deal really just surprised he started mumbling, 'not sure, not sure' - as he is usually quite defiant and on the ball in these situations: - http://www.teamtalk.com/video/6064392/Bayern-Munich-2-1-Man-Utd-Ferguson
-
I don't remember no thrashing Mick, maybe you are comparing a 2-0 win over an English team as the equivalent of beating a top Scottish team 10-0.. Thoroughly deserved win for Bayern tonight, great atmosphere, great comeback. Will be very tough 2nd leg as these Germans are no pushovers like that Italian lot they played in last round. But the highlight of the night was the shell shocked Ferguson showing the first signs of age as he admitted he had no idea whether Rooney had injured his left ankle or his right ankle.

I got the impression from some remarks he made over Christmas that O'Neil is keen for the Liverpool job - and he is getting on a bit now (think he is 58) so might be one last chance of a big job in PL.

Boo hoo where will I go for my weekly supply of frozen pizzas, and chicken nuggets! Not my words, but those of someone I overheard on LL wearing a Chelsea baseball cap
