  1. Your season out of five: -1 Player of the season: Pepe Reina who week in week out shows Jamie Carragher how to pass the ball not 15 yards but 60/70 yards onto the foot of the striker Worst player: Difficult.. but relative to usual standards Gerrard has been a pale shadown of his former self. Best moment: Beating Everton at Goodison. Worst moment: The second half capitulation to a struggling Arsenal at Anfield which for me was definately game up for Rafa.. and off the field the death of ex-player Besian Idrizaj at age of 22 Most annoying opponent: Steve Bruce.. for having a brown tongue from you know who
  2. Cracking Cup Final today - with the sixth crack of the woodwork being decisive
  3. Final positions. I take no pleasure in my lowly position although I did beat that big mouth Sandperson ;-) 1 Zinedine Sydenham Rhodri Jones 66 2295 2 Bayern Monster Munch Steve Frost 87 2273 3 Bangers & Mash Mark Potter 75 2187 4 Manila Bhoys stephen britton 83 2173 5 Cut my Arshavin' Andy Fish 41 2118 6 The Usual Suspects Michelle Cheung 66 2090 7 Longford Flykicker Declan H 52 2088 8 The Plastic Scousers Stephen Taylor 68 2047 9 Boing Boing Anna Tolhurst 52 2040 10 Ladygooners Maggie Newport 41 1962 11 Athletico Underhill Simon McTighe 45 1958 12 Lunkwill and Fook wayne foley 79 1935 13 Hoop Dreams Michael McCotter 37 1918 14 Inter MeNan Michael Wood 48 1901 15 Real Maquids Andrew Thwaites 50 1830 16 FC EHU 1991 Eric Stanly 48 1805 17 Thunderstruckers matthew123 edf 53 1802 18 cowboys glen campbell 66 1756 19 Bayern Durchfall Philip Bergin 58 1744 20 Nunhead Reds Sandperson EDF 45 1697 21 Lommers Legs Liam Morton 63 1651 22 KDDDD fnb edf 50 1505 23 Goat Blowers Malcolm Young - malcomio edf 36 1438 24 TOTTIboiz Salman Doldur 25 1362
  4. Good to see the new cabinet agree to a 5% cut which is a good start
  5. ???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Depressingly, there don't seem to be hardly any > woman involved either the Coalition or the Labour > leadership race... Any Woman leader will instantly be compared with Thatcher such is the media and no party will want such a negative stereotype as it's figurehead when it is seeking election to government.
  6. Somebody needs to tell Nick Clegg then it's only ceremonial after the way he fronted up at today's joint press conference with David Cameron - but I do believe he'll have a lot more influence on government business than his predecessors John Prescott and Harriett Harman.
  7. He'd be star player in England squad - tells you everything you need to know about England's chances of winning WC ahead of Brazil ;-)
  8. Maybe it was Dennis who was the power behind the throne
  9. Oh dear I really am soooo disappointed to hear that.. Philip dear go and unlock the sherry....
  10. ..and Gomes in the Brazil squad.. so ya might have someone returning to WHL with a WC winners medal!

Best way to cut public spending is to give Alex Salmond his independence... but we must make sure we take away his passport otherwise by end of year we'll see him pitched up outside the Commons with a can of Tenants Extra and a begging bowl ;-)
  12. Carragher has had a poor season but he does have a lot of experience in every defensive position (and also ex-central midfield) and is rarely injured so in an England squad composed of players who regularly breakdown I can see why he is now touted for WC in Africa.
  13. What about Carlo Ancelloti on the brink of winning the Double with Chelsea in his first season? Working with all those egos and smashing in over 100 league goals. This with a team who 2 years ago was judged to be past it's sell by date by Ferguson but have risen to the top with maximum points against Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal and not forgotting what must have been the destabilising antics of Terry and Cole.
  14. Don't forget Arsenal SP they had worse injuries than anyone in big 3.. Oh I see you meant it as a dig at Liverpool... well if that floats your boat.. ;-) As I said at start of season I thought Arsenal were too physically weak to win title and I have been proved correct on that front. I actually think PL has been going backwards the last 4 years with last season being particularly poor when title was there for the taking.
  15. This is the England 23 that I think will go to WC, in order of probabiliy K: James, Green, Hart D: Terry, A.Cole, Johnson, Rio, King, Carragher, Warnock M: Lampard, Gerrard, Lennon, Carrick, SWP, J.Cole, Milner, Barry A: Rooney, Defoe, Heskey, Crouch, Walcott
  16. That was some performance from Chelsea today, clinching title was an eight nil win. They have been the best this season no doubt about that - collecting maximum points home & away against Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal. Drogba and Lampard seem to just get better with age. Whether they go and sign anyone in the summer you still have to, as always, make them favourites for next season. But what did the animated Ancelloti belt out at the end with microphone in hand to the crowd, was it by any chance the Italian for, 'F*** MOURINHO!' ?!!
  17. Alternatively CharlieCharlie... is that the PM and his coalition Chancellor discussing new economic measures
  18. Well with that reasoning, maybe we should just hand over power to a military dictator with voters not wanting a Labour, Lib Dem or Tory government ;-)
  19. Look at Chelsea under Scolari and then under Hiddink - the Manager is the most influential man at any Club. Poor morale, negative football is a poor recipe for success - and that is what Liverpool have suffered this season. I am sure if City had a decent Manager they'd have been competing for PL title this season not because they have a squad only marginally better than A.Villa.
  20. Yup but as soon as they've dropped him off at the airport and made sure he gets on the plane to Turin they'd head straight back to Anfield to welcome their new Manager ;-)
  21. Big 5... worried!? My only worry is L.F.C. do not get rid of Rafa. Assuming we have a new Manager (whoever that maybe) and we retain current squad we should be very competitive next season especially without CL distraction.
  22. Maybe BBC are worried about reactionary elements in British society who jump on any opportunity to behave like wild dogs
  23. Very impressed with Spurs during 2nd half - hunger, movement and skill... where did all that come from!?
  24. Hehe, it was emailed to me - you don't seriously think I'd have stumbled across that from endless hours of surfing football websites do ya!? :)
  25. Big deal, when I was a lad the Co-op used to shut at 5 p.m. and if you missed that it meant a trip to the chippy for your supper :))
