  1. Looks like Mesut Ozil is on his way to United http://www.manutd.com/default.sps?pagegid=%7BFE60904B-C2A8-4E60-9B05-700DBBC29BBC%7D&section=playerProfile&teamid=&bioid=94383
  2. The Kit Kat takes some beating, but a Twix is always a good substitute, although in both cases a cup of tea is required. If there is nothing to wash it back with then my favourite would be the Lindt milk chocolate Lindor ball but also a special mention for a packet of Maltesers.

  4. Well he might even have his eye on the Man City job once it becomes available, probably next month
  5. O'Neil probably feels he has proved himself and worthy of a top job and simply has no appetitie to now being treated like a second class citizen. Not my brand of football but it's good to see a Manager not just talk it but walk the morale high ground.. when he could easily have stuck around engineering his way to a preposterous payoff.
  6. He will be back at Celtic by the autumn the way your new boy has started off - would Celtic fans welcome 2 months of failure for the return of O'Neil ?
  7. Probably still pissed off he missed out on Liverpool job to Hodgson
  8. I got a night bus from North London down to Traf Sq about 18 months ago - and 5 or 6 inspectors jumped on mid-way at about 3 o'clock in the morning (it was mid-week as well) and they must have nabbed the majority of people as not having a valid fare (approx 10 ppl were done). As someone said above if you have a season ticket oyster then you don't need to swipe.
  9. Well maybe my observations of Citeh weren't that acute back then so I stand corrected in that case Liverpool have drawn Trabonspor on the Turkish Black Sea coast... pricey and very long trip for those who want to travel although it would be some adventure!
  10. Spurs have drawn Young Boys of Berne in the play-off to reach CL - I think Spurs will be very happy with that fixture rather than some of the more daunting tasks they may have faced. Be good for English football if Spurs can actually reach CL stages as if only to introduce a bit of excitement at the group stages where they are likely to be in a stiff group what with their poor seeding.
  11. Lean meat that melts on the tongue...mmmmm ..then 10 years later you're offspring will probably be born with a pair of hoofs
  12. ..and Omar Sharif in Doctor Zhivago
  13. A few prospective owners have been linked with the Club but the one that worries me is the Syrian / Canadian bid which reeks of having Hicks and Gillett as silent partners. I remember when the Thai Prime Minister Thaksin was linked with a takeover at Liverpool and the Human Rights angle was thrown into the mix yet when it was little old Citeh the same fair weather knockers couldn't be bothered. So whoever comes in for Liverpool will always get beaten with a stick.
  14. Al Pacino in Scarface
  15. Groan... Personally I'd like to see what Roy can do with the current squad this season (plus a new striker and left back).. before we recruit half the Barca team ;-) My own preference has always been to build upon the existing stadium, one stand at a time, even if it means eventually it is in effect a brand new stadium with all the corporate trimmings it would still be upon the holy ground that is Anfield with it's unparalleled history and prestige.
  16. Well hopefully there will be less injuries at Anfield this season with the new Sports Medicine department. The two things which I believe have contributed to his niggling injuries is 2 / 3 years of continuous football and secondly playing as a lone striker and thus taking the brunt every other week of donkeys like Rio Ferdinand. Torres is probably earning a shed load extra money from the commercial deals he has associated with Liverpool. I saw on Sky yesterday that his name is sold on the back of more shirts worldwide than any other Premiership player - second is Gerrard, and third is Rooney. So although he may have got more salary at Chelsea or Man City who'd buy his shirts and alike to boost his commercial income so I think it evens itself out.
  17. Sandperson behave it's not like he rammed his car into a wall like Anderson or Ronaldo ... Torres likes being at Liverpool
  18. Mick Mac Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Success would be to get the club back in the Champions League? No. With the squad he has at Anfield I am expecting a big title challenge. Thankfully Hodgson has so far managed to persuade the top players to stay at Anfield. I have no doubts if Rafa had remained Torres and Gerrard would have both walked. I have seen some diabolical performances by Liverpool in the final months of Souness, Evans and Houllier but never have I seen similar levels of performance reached with such a strong squad as that under Rafa, a squad I should add had an astonishing 12 players at the World Cup.
  19. Your link has since been removed but someone else put up a fresh link
  20. Good start for Hodgson, and good to see him praising players. I think Liverpool are going to have a fantastic season - I am in no way swayed by the bile from those who want to see Liverpool fail.
  21. Strachen started off with a 5-0 defeat and he went on to win a few trophies so maybe you should put the razor blades back in the box Mick. Be interesting to see what happens for Liverpool in Europa League tomorrow with what is in effect a young reserve side. Be good to see Liverpool progress in the competition but not at the expense of the Premiership campaign which I think we have a great chance of winning.
  22. I used to have Orange Broadband - and quite frankly I got really pissed off (putting it diplomatically) speaking to their mentally challenged offshore call centre staff pretty much each and every day asking why the hell my connection was up and down like a yo-yo and usually on it's knees at wooden rocking horse download speeds of 100-200kbps. Never again. Never!
  23. Well I've always tried to ensure my desk cannot be approached from behind and if it can then put wing mirrors on your monitor. Another trick is to tune your ears into whose footsteps are approaching rather than having to continually look up or over your shoulder between reading sentences on web.
  24. City, Liverpool, United, Arsenal, Chelsea will all be able to beat each other home and away. Spurs & Villa will be able to nick a few points as well at home so could be a great PL season. I personally think title will go to Chelsea - with most likely challenger being City. Top 4: Chelsea City Liverpool United
  25. Mmmm difficult without seeing the full transcript but I'd have thought with his history more likely a dig at Mourinho
