  1. Looked like a scratch was a scratch... as not missed any first team games (you can't class United taking a game seriously when they pick Gibson and the twins as per Cup).

  4. Was it?
  5. The Nani scratch, and that is what is was compared to likes of Eduardo / Ramsey / Alan Smith type injuries, was unfortunate, but down to a crap tackle by a techincally challenged player rather than malicious in the Roy Keane (Alf Ing Haarland) mould. It never looked like a career ending moment, and any thought of anything serious was instantly dismissed once Nani chased Ref and beat his fist into the ground. No Nani is getting stick and not sympathy because he has cried wolf so often that many people think it's payback time. On the other hand if it had been say Ryan Giggs and not Nani the reaction would have been quite different.. I wonder why.
  6. The problem with RVP is he'd almost certainly have shifted ball onto his left foot with the space he was in and drilled a more convincing shot at goal if he had any suspicion that he'd not been pulled up for offside. As it was he smashed the ball away in frustration. Not worthy of a yellow card but RVP should have not tested the Ref again after his earlier skirmish following the Wilshire injury.

  8. Pretty sure VP knew it was offside by way he swiped ball. Not sure it made much difference as he'd been starved of possession. If Barcelona had not been so profligate in front of goal could have been another 4 goals. The 700+ passes versus 199 for Arsenal says it was one sided and it was.
  9. 'They don't know how tough we are, show them how tough we are' - imagine reaction if Big Sam had been overheard to say that to one of his teams on coming out for second half..
  10. I'm not so sure Nani is actually the biggest cheat at Old Trafford. I think Rooney takes some beating with his theatrics none more so than the dive against Sol Campbell back in 2004 to win a penalty then just when you thought he'd show embarrassment he celebrated it!
  11. I bought a Dell about 4 years ago.. and it's quite noisy, and almost from the start I've had blue screen problems at start up. Sometimes I have to restart it a few times before it finally logs in (no problem once logged in)... that is probably down to software I have installed. From my experience I'd recommend you purchase by telephone (but beforehand work out exactly what you want online) as I managed to get an extra 2 or 3 hundred off online price. At end of call show your disappointment with the price they have quoted... they'll ask what is your budget and will then consider it with their Superior before coming back with a reduced price... or at least that is how I got my discount. Whereas when I'd bought a laptop online a few years earlier their Sales rang me a few days later asking whether I wanted to upgrade which meant my order had not gone straight to the production line and so delaying delivery.
  12. LOL 'collapsed' ? He was in so much shock he punched the turf when they were sticking him on stretcher! No Nani has cried wolf enough times... what goes round comes around. No sympathy from me for that prancing prima donna. From the non photoshop pictures that I havd seen of the injury looks nothing more than a scratch. Time to move on.
  13. Having now seen full TV footage of incident I think Nani was crying because Carragher did not get a Red card
  14. The one good thing to come out of the Rafael and Carragher challenges is that the Liverpool players showed a togetherness and stood firm against the hystrionics of the United players. Too often in the past they'd have allowed likes of Scholes and Evra a free hand to harrang the Ref but not this time. The Reds also showed aggression in the aftermath, but directed at United, which in effect shielded the Ref from the kind of abuse we have sadly seen too often in the past. This bodes well for continued team spirit at Anfield under Kenny.
  15. Not bad Liverpool performance but still room for improvement. Looked like a footballing incident from my vantage point but the Rafael challenge seemed quite different.

The time for Fergie to have said all that about a player who should have got sent off, bad Ref, and how it changed the game, was at Wigan. Then perhaps instead of neutrals like myself pissing themselves laughing with his hypocracy last night, in his post match interview, he'd have banked some credibility rather than what is now just the sad pathetic snide remarks of a foul old Manager trying to influence the Ref ahead of Sunday's game at Anfield.
  17. Watched the Old Firm match tonight on Sky - utter disgrace. Do we want them in Premiership - no thanks!!

Now that did make me smile for the first time this week!! :))
  19. Haha I've not got review dvd but have seen it a few times
  20. Lol MM Narnia, I know these things... like I knew the 1987 Rugby World Cup 3rd place game was in New Zealand ;-)
  21. Narnia, maybe at United the players don't know their George Best and Gary Birtles but at Anfield we look after our legends and players are well aware of who Kenny is and what he means to Liverpool Football Club.
  22. I think quality at top end of PL has been going downhill since 2006, but seen some great end to end football recently on TV watching Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal. It's definitely an exciting season and I am sticking with my tip Arsenal to be Champions.

  24. How times have changed. Once upon a time Boxing Day meant half the Premiership would kick off at lunchtime such was the number of southern Clubs, now it is just Craven Cottage hoisting the Flag this Xmas. Not sure how so many Clubs from the North West have PL status, but there are 5 PL fixtures in old Lancashire at 3 p.m. this Boxing Day!
  25. BTW Shanks, Paisley, Fagan, Dalglish, not to mention Wenger and Mourinho, all won the Title within 2 years of being in top flight. As for Fergie he was runner-up in his first full season in England. Great managers let their greatness be read on the pitch.. whilst others have their mates in the media write it for them :)
