  1. The Guardian.. do me a favour. What is needed is a crack down, and to hose this scum off the streets.
  2. Most NOTW readers may find it too challenging to paint by numbers so I won't recommend that to take it's place
  3. I wonder whether the super injunction was motivated by needing to keep a lid on the follow up story that has transpired because that is far more explosive than the Imogen affair.
  4. Few headlines this morning that Phil Jones move to United is in tatters. Apparently United thought they'd only have to pay the ?16.5m release clause - but are reportedly having to now offer nearer to the ?22m Liverpool have now put on the table to complete deal. Seems a bit odd as Rovers had already allowed him to speak with United and take a medical. As for Ryan Giggs well (Steven Gerrard was also under the spotlight on these same pages when he was innocent of carrying on with his sister-in-law) it strikes me that there is a rotten culture at United. Whether Fergie will drum the player out of Old Trafford is questionable - but it's a shame his otherwise clean image has well and truly been destroyed. I think it's fair to say that over the last 20 years, of United players, it was Ryan Giggs who was held in high regard by opposition fans across the country. How he will now react to hostile crowds I don't know. He will certainly be amongst people who themselves have first hand experience, but how will this effect his game. Is it time for Giggs to now do the honourable thing and quit football so he brings no further disgrace upon the image of Manchester United?

Whoosh... brush it under the carpet... It's all over the web Alan, take your pick ... Well anyway I think Giggs behaviour it's bang out of order but then I'm a Liverpool fan so you can take that whichever way you want :)
  6. So utter silence then on the latest exploits of Ryan Giggs... Even John Terry will be shaking his head on this one.
  7. Depends on location... what sounds sophisticated to one area may come across as cheap & cheesy in another However, how about, A La Belle Vie
  8. I think you should widen your viewing to say -10%/+20%, of your budget, to help recognise fair value to when it comes to making a discounted offer, or not, of 300K. Just because you tell your agent your budget is say 350K does not mean you cannot offer 300K for a flat if you believe that is what it is worth. Also, explaining why your discounted offer is a fair offer is less likely to burn down bridges with an agent (in regard hot new flats coming onto mkt) than being perceived to just taking a punt.
  9. I think you pay on board virgin trains http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/trains/wi-fi/frequently-asked-questions/
  10. Congratulations to Swansea City on reaching the Promised Land! Made my first visit to the new Wembley to watch the game (friend got me a free ticket), brilliant atmosphere, awesome stadium and very exciting! I think the Swans can do a good job in the PL next season, I like the way they like to knock the ball around. Whether they have to beef up the squad I don't know but hopefully they can last the course!
  11. Nah United were limp, slow, and tactically bankrupt. On the otherhand if Mr Webb had been on duty..
  12. Surprised Giggs is starting so many games which tells you the weakness United have in midfield. I think its amazing how Ferguson has got so much out of this team as it'd be difficult to say Park, Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher, Giggs would break into the Chelsea or Spurs midfield.
  13. Barcelona were well below their usual standards tonight but even so I think the scoreline flattered United :)
  14. Outraged Fergie whispers to his P.A. that he wants journalist banned from future press conferences after he asked a question about Giggs - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13521267.stm
  15. How the Title was won - not on MUTV tonight
  16. It says a lot about Birmingham and West Ham, and any other clubs, who arrange to have end of season parties before the actual end of season! I hope Blackburn get relegated after their reenacting of the infamous 1982 World Cup Germany v Austria stich up last w/e. Wigan to survive. Blackpool to go down please - another season of the West Country ego will be too much!
  17. Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Where's all the Liverpool fans on here gone? "Sing > when you're winning" springs to mind. It was a very one sided game, not seen anything that comprehensive at Anfield for a very long time. Kenny has done very well in recent months getting a midfield of Maxi, Spearing and Kuyt to perform but against Spurs they were outclassed.
  18. In Scotland there are Rangers teams and Celtic teams, and Rangers Refs and Celtic Refs .... or more to the point a city full of bad losers :)
  19. There can't be many more dignified men in Scottish football than Walter Smith. Watching his lap of honour around Ibrox in front of a packed stadium without a snarl or a menacing fist should serve as a lesson to many north and south of the border.

Hmmm I don't believe this one originated at Liverpool, however I have heard it once when we played at Wembley and it went, "to see the mighty Liverpool play at Wembley..." :) On that note, when was the last time Liverpool played at Wembley... must have been 15 years ago! jeepers!
  21. Perhaps, just maybe, both Madrid and Barca, sent out weakened teams at weekend with one eye on a little event at the Nou Camp tomorrow night...
  22. By rights this thread should be renamed Sportscene
  23. What draconian measures did Neil Warnock want passed on West Ham a few years back.. maybe the FA will take that tough approach into consideration over QPR, we shall see..
  24. United will be relying on tried and tested Howard Webb that night wearing the number 7 shirt at Wembley... King Howard... Hmmmm... no, definately Barcelona As for Brugges in 1978 they were not good enough in perhaps one of the most one sides European Cup finals, until 1999 although on that occasion it went the other way
  25. Last time an English team played European Cup final at Wembley was Liverpool. But I don't think United have a pray.
