the main difference is the new tills have a weight sensor in the bagging shelf so when you scan the item and don't put it down on the shelf side it knows & will throw a wobbly if you don't, thus preventing theft, hopefully

there is someone serving at the cigarette stand & new self serve tills. There is a big space at the front where the old tills & front isles were & that stuff is all in new chiller cabinets.

what to do if a shop is not taking covid seriously
Callie replied to fulfordf's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
None of the staff in Barry?s were wearing face masks last few times I?ve been in also there was no one at the door of Co-op on Saturday to control how many people were entering the shop and it was packed with no social distancing:/ -
just food and drink stalls were there just now

There are only 6 people at a time allowed in the main post office on Lordship Lane so that?s good & I don?t think they have stamps that you lick anymore as far as I know they are ones that you peel and stick. Having said that I popped into Farmers for some kitchen roll the shop was empty but all of a sudden there were people all around & I could hardly move , it was quite scary they don?t seem to control how many people enter the shop:(

He just knocked on my door too, I looked through the window to check if it was a delivery for someone else in the family, when I said no thanks through the window, he just said that's ok thanks and walked off quickly. I didn't see him use his mobile though.

I wonder if anyone has actually talked to the police about him, it doesn?t sound as if he?s even been reported because nothing has been done:( -

Noisy children late at night Hindmans Rd?

I've heard very noisy kids too, the sound really carries & echoes - not sure if they?re the same ones but I thought it was coming from one of the houses or flats on Barry Rd whose courtyard is the other side of the back gardens on Hindmans. I would definitely report it. -

I do same as you with large cardboard that won?t fit in the bin & they always take it away so I think you?ve been unlucky also if you leave the cardboard to get wet/rained on it will soften up & you can tear it up easily into smaller pieces to go in the bin.

Collection is 'free' but you need to book it yourself either online or over the phone. Works out cheaper than having a large brown bin if you don't use it much.

I used to have a small brown bin but it didn?t go too well and eventually I gave up. I think I threw it away in the green bin :O

I haven't made up my mind what to do yet. -
Brown bin collection - Council starting to charge?
Callie replied to slarti b's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
stating the obvious, the system just isn't working, why have a separate food bin if it all gets thrown together with the garden waste \0/ Waste collections have gone downhill. I definitely won't be getting a food waste caddy & messing around with that. Today my blue bin was emptied but my blue recycling box wasn't? I will be reporting a missed collection but I won't hold my breath as that system isn't working properly either.
