  1. I opted to get the 10p strong bag instead of paying 5p for the flimsy one at co-op yesterday. Althought they 'hid' the flimsy bags at the manned tills, they had them up for grabs at the self serve tills. I think you have to declare how many if any 5p bags you use, but how many people are really going to do that & what if they've brought in their own flimsy co-op bag - I can't see the staff stopping anyone & how would they even know if anyone has taken the 5p bags without paying for them? I personally think they should get rid of the flimsy 5p bags at the self serve checkouts all together. If you haven't brought your own bag, they go to manned till to buy a 5p flimsy or 10p bag.
  2. lol.I had a guy knock on my door the other evening, it wasn't as late as 9 though & I wouldn't have normally opened the door but I was expecting a parcel delivery so I got a bit of a surprise! He only managed to say he was from Green Peace when I said 'no thanks' & closed the door on him lol. I always say 'no thanks'.Its my default reply to all unwanted visitors.Short & sweet & works a treat!
  3. Thanks, I will give them a call tomorrow. Reason I was asking is I read they won't take anything longer than 6ft & I think that is a few inches less than sides of a standard double bed, will have to check.
  4. Does anyone know if they will collect a wooden double bed frame & mattress? Just missed them as they shut at 5pm. Frame comes apart, 4 sides & the base slats. Also if they don't collect, does anyone know who does? Thanks
  5. I'm really surprised no one's mentioned the horrible noise of the engine or air con or whatever it is that comes on. I really feel sorry for anyone who has to endure it every day going to work. I only travel now & again & it dose my head in. I think I'd much rather prefer no air con (which doesn't work anyway) & have windows that open instead & no noise pollution!
  6. thanks edhistory. We were using them up to a couple of months ago when I thought we'd try another place & now they've gone! was a bit of a surprise lol, oh well. Another good Indian takeaway just vanished. Hope Village tandoori stick around, they're fab :O)

  8. Anyone know what's happened to it? Just been down Lordship Lane & windows are all papered up, looks empty. Have they gone?

Ask them for a printout of your child's imms info & check against your child's imms record book, ask to speak to the practice manager if info is incorrect to get it sorted. That is what I would do. If you are refusing any of the imms on behalf of your child let them know & make sure they record it on the computer that you don't want any more imms invite letters.
  10. The button you press on the lights was only working on one of the lights. The one opposite North Cross Rd earlier today was not working/lighting up.I have reported it.
  11. Went to Lordship Lane post office after work today & thought I'd pop into Co-op to get a few bits while I was down there but it was closed due to flooding. The water inside was ankle deep!
  12. I've sorted it now.
  13. yes I know but I'm only using the brown wheelie for garden waste, I hardly have any food waste & I'm not going out of my way to buy the bags.
  14. I gave up with putting food waste in the mini sized brown bin some time ago, it was too much hastle. My food waste goes straight in my regular kitchen bin with black bin liner which then goes in the green general wheelie bin. I still use the blue wheelie & brown one for garden waste only.
  15. How can I report bonfire smoke pollution on a Sunday? I rang Southwark but their offices are closed.
  16. Ah right, I wondered where the other places were. It was nice to see familiar spots around London. I really enjoyed it:) (even though it got bad reviews)
  17. I personally don't see anything wrong with anyone turning their garden into a parking space if they want to. It's a bit sad, yes but what else are they supposed to do if they don't have a garage or anywhere to park?
  18. Did anyone watch The Intercepter on BBC recently? (just finished last week I think) it had a lot of scenes of Lordship lane in it, including shops like dry cleaners etc :O) They were filming in The Gardens a couple of weeks ago too.

  20. yes, the little girl being burnt alive on the stake in Game of Thrones - I thought she would be rescued by someone from this horrific death but she wasn't! :(
  21. sedm Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If Neighbourhood Vets goes I will be devastated... > I have a much loved but very poorly rescue kitten > and that place has been invaluable to me Yes me too! I popped into the vets on Wednesday & spoke with the manager. He's aware of the plans & assured me they are staying. He said their lease doesn't run out for a good few years & if anything they will be gaining more space to expand the premises.

Also agree they need to fix the aircon. We have a membership 4,5 years now & half that time it hasn't worked. Recently the floor in the gym has been strewn ankle deep with blue paper towel from the loos from everyone mopping up their sweat in the heat - it is just awful.
  23. The Neighbourhood Vets is the best around & one of the best things to happen to this area in a long time. I do so hope that we don't lose them!

Fly-tipping is > anti-social. no point posting it on here, you need to report it to Southwark Council, like the op said,so they can do something about it - like come & take it away, because you know the guy who dumped it won't.
  25. The vets & barbers are staying,it's only the boarded up bit that's being done up from what I understand. I personally would find a small supermarket handy. I do love Barry's though & would definitely use both since it's nearer to me from home.
