What exactly is wrong with the crossing at Barry's? I'm sorry I don't get it. Is it the timer on the lights or speed limits?

I don't think Tesco & Sainsbury's are that cheap & it's not just about cheap for me as there are things I like to buy in Iceland that I can't get in Co-op. The Iceland in Peckham is crap compared to the one on Lordship Lane & no way handy for me.
  4. Bring back the garden centre & the police station xx
  5. yes, very sad. They did say it was going on facebook. It was a lovely little shop. A lot of really nice shops seem to be disappearing. All that will be left soon is estate agents & hairdressers :(

  7. Just realised there aren't even that many Chinese takeaways round here to try out.
  8. Hi thanks. I've just removed the old lavender hedge & prepared the bed for planting. Luckily the soil was treated & is perfect for growing lavender. I read somewhere that it could be planted till Aug included but wondered if anyone had done this successfully. I was rather hoping to get the plants in before next spring to give them a head start.
  9. Is it too late to plant a lavender hedge in August?
  10. MelonSmasher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > the worst is cyclists on the pavement the next one > I see is getting kicked back on to the road lol often felt like doing this myself. It happens all the time on corner of Barry & P.Rye. They come off the road onto the pavement & don't get back on the road till they reach the crossing of P.Rye & ED Rd. Drives me mad!
  11. Anyone know if it is too late to plant a lavender hedge? I've looked online but everywhere says plant in spring & nothing about August.
  12. We too tried a different Chinese a couple of nights ago, the one on the corner of Upland & Hindmans. We ordered the same dishes we got from Yeh Wah but were disappointed. The service was good but the food wasn't unfortunately & no way anywhere as good as Yeh Wah's & so the search begins for a good local Chinese takeaway
  13. small bits of shredded chicken deep fried in batter seasoned with chilli, spring onions, ginger etc. that sort of thing

That's shocking to hear as we've used them loads over the past 3 or 4 years and never had anything like that. They were lovely staff too & they always threw in free extra speciality dishes for us being regulars. We'll miss them.
  15. photo on it's side + lorry on it's side - double whammy
  16. On no, hope they haven't gone for good, that's my fav Chinese takeaway. Ghandi was the best Indian too :0(
