  1. They were going through those bins in broad daylight in public like it was an ok thing to do *rolleyes*. They could be collecting stuff to sell but still this is against the law & so is id theft. Quite disturbing.
  2. Not more than 10 minutes ago, on my way to work, I saw the 2 asian women with their shopping trollies, pulling things out of someone's bin on Upland Rd! Unfortunatelly I couldn't take a photo as my phone hasn't got a camera. They were walking towards Oakhurst Grove. They didn't seem to care who saw them!
  3. I really miss Plant Nation on Upland Rd. Always used to get the brown bags there.
  4. As GinaG3 says, get onto the Council Environmental Health, info on Southwark website & report it asap. They should be able to sort it & hopefully have someone who speaks the lingo if they need a chat.

  7. The so called emergency vets in Streatham turned us away once, saying they were fully booked! Not the sort of thing you want to hear when your pet is badly injured. The only place we've been able to rely on in emergency's over the years is The Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Victoria.
  8. So sorry for you:(& very sad:( Happened to two of my cats it the past:( I have 2 cats now & never, ever let them out the front. They only stay in the back garden/s. If you decide to get another cat, please only let it go out in the back garden to keep it safe. Cats will always be at risk if you let them wonder the streets. So sorry again for your loss:(
  9. What a shame. It would have made a lovely little garden centre. So sad we don't have one in ED anymore:(
  10. I would like to know too. Looks like they're gutting it. Don't think it will be another caf?. It would make a lovely garden centre, be it a small one. The name would still fit too.
  11. I was very happy to find my bin had been emptied yesterday, the day after I rang the council, which was faster than expected. Excess bins are still there on the pavement. Will wait a bit longer to see if they get collected before I ring again.
  12. A couple of days ago I reported online a missed collection of my green wheelie. My bin is now choca, just about managed to squash the lid down. Anyway, on returning from work today, someone has been rummaging in my bin. They'd ripped open some bags & left dumped on top of the other bins! Left a right mess. They must have been very quite as no one noticed or heard them on the gravel outside. I rang the council to see if they'd received my email & to find out when they are coming but told they have been inundated with emails & now have a huge backlog. They gave me a reference no & said best they could do was within the next 3 days. I've also reported 2 unclaimed bins to be collected which have been knocking about on the pavement outside for over a month.

I also complained via the website form when my bin wasn't fully emptied because stuck to the bottom etc & they came round again to empty it properly lol.

Busy re the baby bath - if it's a largish item that won't fit in your wheelie bin or a black bin bag that you can leave next to your wheelie bin, the regular bin won't usually take it. You have to book a seperate collected for this, info is on southwark website. They give you a day & ref no. They take description of items you need collecting, you leave it in your front garden on day of collection. I've done this few times. It works v well. We are v lucky to have this service free in Southwark as been told they have to pay for it in Lewisham & Wandsworth boroughs.

ED police station? There isn't one! & hasn't been for some time now. No wonder they think they can carry on like this with lack of police presence.
  16. Supermarket? Someone will probably come along & say they hope it's a Waitrose lol
  17. What did the art look like?
  18. Forum posts that start 'to the man/woman who....' etc. They are never going to see your message. Get over it!
  19. Thanks. My blue bin was emptied last week & brown bin this morning. I think it's also green today.
  20. Anyone know? I thought it was but the checker page is down so can't check. I have excess black bags. Is it safe to leave them next to the bin?

    Water meters?

It really depends how much water you use. There are 3 of us. We use the dishwasher every day, washing machine at least 3 times a week, wash & have showers everyday, flush the loo, water plants, do cleaning etc I don't think we use excessive amounts of water but we definitely would be worse off on a meter. It might just work for 1 person but even then I don't think they would save very much unless they use very little water.
  22. Handsome looking cat, lovely colour & markings.

  24. So sad, we will miss the Warehouse. A great loss to Lordship Lane :(
