New M & S to open this Thursday 15 November
Callie replied to derwentgrove's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I know it just opened but personally I don't think the new M&S is half as good as the one near North Cross Rd. I didn't like the layout, could be due to a 'funny shaped' space, not sure. The self serve tills are very small & squashy & weren't working very well ,they seemed to have more variety of some items like eg soup but no trace of other things at all that the other store has. -
Our electricity went off just after 4 including street light wondered if anyone else has got problems too?

the water has gone again this morning - we managed to get 1 flush from the loo last night, since Friday. No water coming into the cistern this morning. I rang Thames water, they said they are aware there are still problems in SE22 & working on it & bottled water available across the rye on Strakers, but bottled water is not going to help us flush the loo:(
-
our loo isn't filling up with water so can't flush :(

Our 2 seater sofa bed was extremely heavy & had to be lifted out of the living room via the window. I couldn't do this & the council don't do this, that is why I had to get someone else :O)

Just to add the council will only collect your sofa unless you yourself first leave it outside your property ie they will not come in to your living room & carry it out.

I have a drain cover in my front garden & when I walked over it this evening to get to the wheelie bin I found it was loose & rocking? which is very odd as it's always been welded down securely before, you'd have a job budging it & I'm wondering if it's been tampered with - if someone's been in my garden & lifted it for some strange reason & not locked it back? Not sure what I should do or who to contact? Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Royal Mail Sorting Office Closure Meeting..
Callie replied to DulwichFox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have logged 3rd complaint today with royal mail customer support. This is the 3rd complaint for the same parcel delivery since the 8th October & it's the first time ever that I have had to log a complaint with royal mail. It is obvious that since the closure of Silvester Rd Sorting office the service has gone to pot. 1. missed a delivery got a missed delivery card, went online & booked a delivery for next day to my work address round the corner. 2 next day parcel never arrived at my work address but when I got home I found another missed delivery card & not only that I had another resident's details on my card & a barcode for their parcel stuck on under my reference number!! on my card!! - delivery instruction was ignored so 1st complaint logged & delivery rebooked by customer services again to my work address 3 next day my parcel did not arrive at my place of work - however the other person's parcel did!! - 2nd complaint logged. Customer services again arrange for my parcel to be delivered to my work 4 well today parcel still did not arrive so rang customer services yet again - 3rd complaint logged. They tried to ring the manager at Highshore Rd but office was closed at 3pm, they said they have left a voicemail. They also gave me their phone number so I could try ringing them myself at 8am in the morning:( The earliest I can go in person to the sorting office is Wednesday. The parcel was a birthday present for someone on 8th October:( -

I have just been quoted ?60 to take a 2 seater sofa, not sure if that's a good price?
-
Can anyone recommend a good company that doesn't have hidden costs. I'm looking for someone to come & remove a sofa bed, same day if possible. The council will only collect things that are left outside as far as I know. Thanks

Totally agree, there's got to be an extra storage space somewhere locally surely? -
