Dear book group, Just a reminder that we are meeting next Wednesday at 8.00pm in the Blake room at the Clockhouse. In February or March next year we will be invited to go on radio four book club with James Naughtie. These are always fun and a nice experience. One of the sessions will be poetry which isn?t really my cup of tea but if you like poetry and wish to go let me know. If you wish to go on the normal book club let me know. As soon as I have a date and a book to read I will let you know. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006s5sf Some time in the near future there will a group of musicians playing at the Clockhouse. It?ll be Celtic/folk and will be relaxed evening of good music. They are all very good musicians so when something is organised I?ll let you know. Probably meet on a Monday every second week. I had to rehash the email list so if you asked to be removed and find your self back on let me know and I?ll remove you. Till next week. Chick. -
Hi Mark, sorry I just cant go along with what I see as charlatans exploiting the weak and vulnerable any more that I could accept ?spiritualist?s? exploiting people by claiming to talk to the dead. People have died taking homeopathy seriously and ignoring the NHS. This thread isn?t the place for such a discussion so I will duck out but may in the future start a thread in the lounge.

With the greatest respect what for? It's just water and has no "memory". Sure there may be a placebo effect but that's all. Just a reminder two weeks from tomorrow. -

So if the wing is inverted, the air > will be flowing slower under the groundward side > and faster over the top, pushing it down? > > Mind you I'm an English graduate who doesn't > really understand why electricity doesn't fall out > of empty sockets, so could well be wrong! Rendle, sorry I have been lazy and copied this: Upside-down or right side up, flight works the same way. As you stated, the wing deflects air downward. When inverted, the pilot simply controls the the pitch of the aircraft to keep the nose up, thus giving the wings sufficient angle of attack to deflect air downwards. It's less efficient and in a light air craft it requires full power. It would mean pointing the nose towards the sky. Hope that makes some sense.
-
No. It depends on the angle of attack, as long as air is moving faster over the top of the wing there will be lift and the plane will keep flying. > Yes, I believe they frequently have asymmetrical > aerofoils (get me!) so they fly the same level or > inverted. Invert an airliner and once it's upside > down, all the aerodynamics that were forcing it > upwards start forcing it downwards instead.

What is a "gammon"?

Same thing happened to me, but they left every thing including a credit card, PDA, camera, drills and a full toolkit. No sign of forced entry so I must have left it unlocked. Let off lightly. stoo31 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Weirdly the other Sunday morning I got in my car > to find the contents of the glove box all over the > passenger seat including the car?s removable sat > nav/ media player.
