Is the no 37 the best way to get to Brixton? Just wondering how early we will need to leave to get there for 10.30.

We saw a great new mural in the playground of ED community centre this morning. It somehow looks like it's always been there.
-
Are your locations definite? We had a v limited budget and found that keeping the ceremony and reception close to each other saved a lot of money. It also made for a lovely relaxed day.

Does anyone know about parking in Brixton on Saturday please? Are CPZs in action at the weekend? (Very rare child free outing coming up!)
-
Thank you. We are going on a week day so will try and get there early and hope for the best!

We are off to London Zoo soon and will be paying on the door so won't have 'fast track' tickets. Does anyone know, what are the queues like which fast track helps you avoid? (Nb have 1.5 and 4 year old to entertain).

The same at Goodrich. It seems that a lot of the children in nursery didn't get in to reception. The last distance offered has shrunk since last year. The admissions for nursery and reception are separate anyway. Thanks -
Does anyone know if there are parking restrictions on the streets near the lovely myatts field playground on a Saturday afternoon please? My other half has to take the kiddies to a party there as I am otherwise engaged and I think he would prefer to avoid the bus.

It is very interesting and quite reassuring to hear that the official ones slip down. I have a cheap one from I can't remember where and its only fault is slipping down so now I'm pleased that I saved myself some money. -
Is Peckham Rye 1o'clock club open during half term?
sunbob replied to MM22's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes, I went past and saw the Easter opening times poster. Next week there are drop ins on Tues and Fri 10-12 plus Thurs 1.30-3.30. -
Happened to us years ago, again when new to the area. I also think the signage is unclear and inadequate, but like most people couldn't afford to make the time or take the effort to appeal.

Thank you again Fuschia, you answered a previous query about chemists for me. I had tried NHS website but not found what I was looking for.

Please does anyone know of one. I think Sainsburys is open from 11 but hoping for one open a few hours earlier.

I cross several times a day pushing buggy with one hand and holding toddler's hand with the other and every time the man has actually gone red by the time I get off the kerb. I feel really angry and saddened that my 4 year old daughter; who has excellent road crossing discipline, which I have taught her from day one, mainly at this junction with its formerly nice big clear, long enough, green/red man; is now being told 'oh don't worry that its gone red we will just rush across anyway. As for what my younger one is picking up from this I dread to think. Another problem is the sensers that check pedestrians are there before turning the man green. Obviously, with small children I don't want to be waiting really close to the road so will press the button then step back. If we are the only ones waiting to cross it won't change unless I go closer to the road for the senser to pick us up. -
Thank you very much.

Thank you very much Fuschia. I don't suppose you know if local schools nurseries allow children to come in with conjunctivitis do you?

Does anyone know when the chemist on Forest Hill Rd opens? Or any local ones that open early.

when did your child grow out of a Mini Micro scooter?
sunbob replied to verds's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The maximum weight stated on the mini micro is just over 3 stone. -
New shop - corner Forest Hill Road & Dunstans Road
sunbob replied to Marmora Man's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A week or so ago there was a poster outside, arrow pointing in through the hoardings, saying something like "The Galleon Hairdresser opening party tonight". -

Hopefully she was correct.

My 2 love prp playground. Splashing in muddy puddles and endless games of gruffalo hide and seek in the woods interspersed with a bit of climbing and swinging is just their thing. Also, the park has so much else to offer you don't have to spend your whole time in there.

Don't know the pricing, but we went to a fourth birthday there the other day and it was just the right combination of play and party. As Mamamia said 45 mins of each. The timing of that particular one was good too, at 3-4.30 we got back before children were too tired. I preferred that to 2 parties this weekend ( dd definitely has much better social life than us) which both finished at 6pm and had each evening almost ending in full blown melt-down mode!
