We have a lovely Usborne one I've saved from last year. I think my mum found it on an Usborne lady's stand a local fair. It's a beautiful card crib style one, it stands up and there's a different nativity character to slot in to the scene for each day.
When I rang them recently they said that if they have a space in year they would take from the waiting list but Only a child in the same year group as the official September intake. They won't go down a year group even if the child has their funding in place and is top of the waiting list. They do do it at Goodrich though. That is a child not due to start school till sept 2016 could go in mid way through this academic year if a space became available, their funding was in place (the term after their 3rd birthday) and they are top of the waiting list.
Lots of parents stay with their children in the creche, so you wouldn't have to leave him in the there. We've always stayed with ours as we want Church to be a family experience and you really are free to go in and out as you need to. Creche finishes in time to go in for communion (as your husband is religious it might be really nice for him to be able to take him up for a blessing) notices and last hymn. All the kiddies are in the church for that last section and the foyer is still available so no stress.
Minder, I think from your posts that you have a lot of knowledge about these things so may I ask you about the below? Does it mean that somewhere between 16-26 months children start to communicate their soiled nappy and somewhere between 30-50 months (2.5-4 and a bit years) they start to toilet themselves? Thanks. Minder "Most nurseries (and childminders) work according to the EYFS which states that at 16-26 months a child is clearly communicating that they have a soiled nappy. This is great but then the proper stuff comes in. At 30-50 months children can toilet themselves. "
As I understand it the enforcement isn't about the child, it's a case of criminalising the parent. With a fine or various 'orders' (community, parenting etc) leading up to prosecution. https://www.gov.uk/school-attendance-absence/legal-action-to-enforce-school-attendance
I recently set up our 2.5 yo with a toddler mattress in the space of a full single. I did it to create a little bit of space at the end for some extra storage. The length is fine but what I hadn't thought of is the width. I now realise he would be much more comfy being able to stretch out over the full width of a normal single.
We have a hatchback Octavia. When we had a britax evolva in the middle and britax first class plus seat next to it an adult could just about squeeze in on the side. Now we have 2 evolvas, however, they have to go one on each side and even a very thin adult can't squeeze in the space. The first class plus can be used for quite a long time though, if your child isn't (as ours is) extremely tall for their age.
Some local children's centres are running summer activities such as stay and plays. You can find summer timetables for Ivydale (including one o clock club) and Bessemer on their websites. The programme for the libraries summer reading challenge also sounds fantastic, you can get a leaflet there or find details on the Southwark council website. More or less all free stuff.
Otta, i thought that too. we just had our 6th and I wanted to give my other half the box set. (Unfortunately too broke to do so but it's the thought that counts). I thought it was better than the bouncy thing at ?2 for 5 minutes. What I noticed about the slide was that the guy running it when we there couldn't remember which child was which so kept on asking people for extra money. Maybe he was just looking after it for someone for 5 minutes. The best 2 bits of the fayre for us were definitely the free ones (free bouncy castle on the way in and the fire engine).
If you are a parent/carer who's going to be using parks a lot over a long period then I would say enjoy having such a great variety of parks. Also, maybe save a couple for a year or so's time for a bit of a change when you might start wanting something a bit different.
Just having an investigate of the red and green routes map. I think you could do it for free by going peckham rye to Surrey quays on the green route then get jubilee to London bridge. I had no idea 5 was a threshold for paying so thanks for starting the thread.
Thanks for saying so eloquently what I was thinking Buggie. People being cut off and told not to post different views feels very uncomfortable to me, in what, for me, is usually a warm, familiar and interesting place to chat and debate.
Yes i think pygamas go down well. My daughter went in pygamas to nursery (poss red nose day can't remember) and she still talks about it 2 years later! She has told her 2yo brother on a number of occasions that one day he will go to nursery in his PJs :-)
If she has a normal adult single you could just get any design you like from the adult selection maybe. Our daughter has a nice flowery (not pink) one and 2 more childish ones (m&s I think) which are Mr Men and an owl design.
I recently walked by Bessemer school and there was an add on the fence for their own Easter and summer holiday clubs. It wasn't clear whether it was just for Bessemer pupils or not so could be worth a call.
