  1. We got post yesterday! Three Christmas cards which were sent second class 3 weeks ago, along with several bank statement type items. Exciting!
  2. Often of a morning I hear a flock of starlings chattering in trees near Peckham Rye Park and there are sparrows to be heard in the various front garden hedges. I regularly see a robin and wren on the footpath through to the Greendale and in spring we get blue tits nesting (near the park).
  3. Well, information for anyone partaking next year: 5.30-6.30 was great for littleys and slightly older alike and by about ten to seven a lot of houses had run out of sweets. Quite a few young teens who'd made a real effort with their costumes were setting out around then, however, so I hope they had some good luck. Thank you so much to all the hospitable folk around the area, who were so welcoming, generous and fun.
  4. What time are people trick or treating today?
  5. Thanks Tasha1 I'd missed that announcement. (Going to spend a couple of hours feeling sorry for self now before breaking the bad news to the family).
  6. It looks like it is going to be in the park after all (not on the common). People are busy marking out the area opposite Harris boys and looking on Gala's own website this morning, it says it's in the park. Does anyone know when/how it was changed back from the common to the park?
  7. Are the 2 hearts attached by that yarn at the top?
  8. For a while Charter ED used the field next to it on the opposite side of the footpath. I'm glad they don't still have to, as that field seems to be the sump of the area and when regularly run around on was supremely muddy and slippery.
  9. At least one local primary use it for their sports day. Up until the last month I've seen the groundsman there almost daily, which fits with the push not to mow during this period. Early on misty mornings you can often see foxes relaxing there.
  10. Thanks for the info.
  11. I know of only 1 school which offers 2 languages at yr 7, Greycoats which is classed as a 'language college'. Does anyone know of any others?
  12. All the clubs at greycoats are free as well.
  13. There are usually lots of dog walkers on the slope opposite Harris Boys early in the morning.
  14. Another collection of clothes etc, for refugees in general, so not specifically Ukraine. getridofit-donate.com at St Faith?s Community Centre, SE24 9JQ every Sunday between 1:00-2:30pm by appointment.
  15. We've cancelled our trip now. Hope everyone stays safe!
  16. We've been upgraded to a red warning and the met office forecast says winds maximum 67mph around midday. Would you travel 6 miles south east for an optional activity? Or anywhere else for other reasons?
  17. Bedtime by 9pm, quiet time/reading encouraged from 8.30pm. During holidays/special occasions occasionally a little later. Screen time: 45 mins games/videos, 1 hr phone, 40 mins TV. Screen for school work or reading unrestricted. No particular rules but the home is very small so we can usually see what everyone's doing.
  18. Commiserations to you guys who live that end. We're exceedingly close to the usual location and the stomach rumbling bass through the afternoon and evening is not fun.
  19. We recently sent out a newsletter to all households in Dulwich with an update on the Dulwich Streetspace measures. Another household near to Dunstans here who didn't get this. Does your "Dulwich" include the whole of East Dulwich? A full report on the representations and the associated officer recommendations is available to view here. Is there supposed to be a link where it says'here'?
  20. Thank you very much for all the suggestions and kind offers. Crisis averted :)
  21. I don't suppose you know where to get an emergency last minute pumpkin do you? I have failed to get for kids :(
  22. I saw the pheasant in PRP too. Any ideas as to why this species would suddenly show up? Never seen one here before and that's in almost 20 years.
  23. Hi midivydale Do you know how far the catchments for St Thomas and Haberdashers usually stretch please?
  24. The work is being done in the middle of the night. Very relaxing for us locals!
  25. They could cycle up Friern Rd, walk across lordship lane, cycle through Dulwich Park then the pavements are shared (A205 past Dulwich College, up round the corner etc).
