Have you been there yet HMB. Trust them to open in November.

It's simply not logical for Irish people to show support, sympathy or condolence for an army that have acted as they have done to some of the people of Northern Ireland. If the remembrance was limited to the good people of the two world wars I'm sure there would be no problem whatsoever with a minutes silence being respected.
  3. Lets move on. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have explained it and that is how it is. Apart from Jah that is. We can't move on from that sort of personal comment.
  4. Good idea Steveo. My wife's doing the same. I've been telling her that it's not really healthy to have more than one large glass of wine, I have become a drinking adviser. I watch closely and say what I see. She's grateful.

  8. Celtic wore a poppy on the shirt and made a donation to the poppy appeal. A minutes silence would not have been observed as a significant proportion of the fan base is Irish and not big fans of the army for obvious reasons.
  9. I'll have a drink with most or any of you. I'm not fussy. Edited to say...... All Bar One.
  10. I'd be offering the milkman a pinta if I thought I had to have a guest to have a drink.
  11. 7 days done for 2013. Am only doing until the 20th this year ... as have plans. so far so good.

How about Soundcloud, do many EDFers use it? and what for? It has recently announced 250m monthly users and a hook up with Instgram http://techcrunch.com/2013/10/29/soundcloud-instagram/ but still most people I speak to have not heard of it.
  15. The simple point is that the remembrance of heroes of WWI and WWII, everyday people who gave their lives for our independence and protection is very different from how I see the role of present day armed forces. It's a very dangerous job, with an employer. Generally they are not losing/risking their lives in the act of saving the lives and futures of the people of the UK.

  19. The forces are agents of the state, required by contract to do the will of the government, not necessarily the will of the people and therefore for me at least the pure image of the forces as defenders of the people has been watered down significantly in recent times, possibly 50 years.

I'm beginning to enjoy Twitter. These companies maximise their user base before attempting to monetise. Some don't need to monetise to float. People don't pay for social media. The value is in the perceived added value given to it by advertisers and businesses. None of this value can be quantified to any tangible level but it's where the captive audience is these days. Advertisers have to go where the people are and will pay. Other than advertisers I can't see where else Twitter will make money and it does have to as shareholders eventually seek a dividend. It could start charging business users to tweet or to use the Twitter symbol. To date they have used this symbol to advertise itself but there is a point where it's so well known that businesses perceive that they cannot afford not to be on it and will pay if required to do so.

If he has a clear shot on goal when fouled within the box, yes. At the moment you get a penalty/goal if the player fouled is not even in possession eg Ashley Young. Ridiculous.
  22. I'm sticking to my guns - penalty does not fit the crime - incentivises people to dive. Correct the source of the problem. No need for free kicks too close to the goal - bit of construtive thought. Punishing divers is virtually impossible post Eduardo gate.

It had a nice feel to it (and it > still does, but in a different way). Lots more options now, but yes in 2001 we moved here and it was Franklins, CPT and EDT for beers, and Tandoori Nights and Le Chardon for eats (even Westons/Springers a couple of times). Anyway back to Sydenham...I'm sure it will get there in time. I had a mate in Penge until 3 years ago and there were a couple of decent bars then.

Hold on a minute - you think its not a surprise for someone to be within the grounds of your house staring in the window when dark? If this happended to my daughter she probably would be affected by it for quite some time.
