I remember at the time supproting Scotland, mostly because Simon Groom and John Craven told me to, and top of the pops made me feel like ally's army were going to win it.

  3. Did he say "Waitrose"? Expect huge excitement & new thread.
  4. Very good RC. :)
  5. When we were 17, anyone of 25 was really old. In fact anyone more than two years older was pretty much past it. I'm sure the girls felt the same. I think a girl going out with anyone even 2 years older than them was quite unusual where we were.
  6. You can achieve great things even with a Scottish team. SAF's greatest managerial achievement imo was in Scotland .... Under Ferguson, the Pittodrie club won three league titles, four Scottish Cups and a Scottish League Cup, alongside the European Cup Winners? Cup and the UEFA Super Cup, both in 1983.
  7. Radio 5 is doing a 2 hour programme on Jock Stein tonight. 730 to 930. Just started. Arguably Britain's most successful ever manager. Their words not mine.
  8. Bale v Suarez. I thought bale thought he was going to get kicked by the onrushing keeper. Suarez's right foot was touched and about 5 seconds later he realised this and fell over. A bit embarrassing.
  9. Thank the lord Declan joined in. You are out for next week matey.
  10. Tandoori Nights. Cool. I know where that is, and how to get home too. Don't arrange it for too early mikee, I need a beer beforehand... :-)
  11. Yeah. It was only when I started watching the US golf on Sunday evenings that I got started betting reg on golf. Before then it was majors only. Still like the big race meetings though, it's just that with kids you sometimes miss them.
  12. Going along Lordship Lane yesterday made me think that although night time LL (bars and restaurants) may not have improved much in recent years I think it's daytime buzz has certainly improved. Better shops, streetside eating, northcross market etc. Which is good.
  13. Don't spend it all at once. ;) Fortunatley I forgot about the Arc today. I doubt I would have got the 33/1 winner.
  14. The ability to engage people is common amongst successful people. Process can override content.
  15. Poor Declan. Never mind.
  16. I have just looked back to page 32 of this thread for the highlight of my betting career. 16 October 2010...
  17. Can I have a go at this ? Man City 2 Sunderland 0 Chelsea 2 Norwich 0 Swansea 1 Reading 1 West Brom 2 QPR 1 Wigan 1 Everton 2 West Ham 2 Arsenal 2 Southampton 0 Fulham 1 Liverpool 3 Stoke 1 Tottenham 0 Aston Villa 1 Newcastle 1 Man Utd 2
  18. There are ways of getting your property on to Right Move without using an agent and gives good exposure quite cheaply. Explore ...
  19. I got an email to say this planning application has been withdrawn. Don't know if that is news to people or not. Game over.

Jeremy - you seem to be very defensive about this - and have the same name as one of the presenters, anything to declare? Do you have a dodgy haircut, jeans with creases, brown leather jacket and act a bit of a twat ;-)
  21. 4000.23 No bets on Ryder Cup - its much too important for that ! Only current bet is 10 on Liverpool. Note : I have secured my ticket for Ascot 20th October. Frankel's last race. Hospitality tickets in the premier enclosure, paid for (psycologically) from our November 2010 Tote Jackpot winnings, to which Frankel contributed with a win in the third race. Nostalgia. :)

  23. Rangers have an equally tricky statistic to get rid of as they have yet to win away from home in the Scottish Third Division. That one could also run for a while. Annan Athletic's home form looks a bit suspect, so you may have a chance there. Are they amateur or semi professional? ( ;-) - for PGC only)
  24. You should get behind the Scottish teams in Europe.
  25. Celtic win away from home in the Champions League for the first time ever. Spartak Moscow 2 Celtic 3 ..... Get in ! That was one statistic I was beginning to think would go on forever.
