Really? However, a month without alcohol for someone who generally exceeds the recommended limits is certainly a good idea.

I think it can be improved to have a chance of winning something in the future. Personally I think it could first be improved by facing the stalls inwards towards the road, to have stalls facing inwards on both sides like most markets. But maybe there are reasons...

Help. Nightmare neighbours. How do we deal with conflict?
Mick Mac replied to Hickory's topic in The Lounge
I'm not agreeing with that over reaction at all - I would like to understand the truth to the supposed notice though. -

I see the OP still mentions a days notice but also mentions later in the OP "not informing them"... can you clarify whether you gave them a days notice or not? With no notice at all I think I'd be miffed too. With 24 hours prior notice and a clear indication of the type of fence and that it was happening the next day I'd feel I was given at least a short opportunity to disagree. -

I actually find that helpful - I didn't know what a mugging was supposed to be. Perhaps the police should put up a notice to warn people and deter the muggers?

As seen on tv, many owners are unaware of their dogs behaviour when they are not there. Not suggesting its the case here, and foxy seems to think not, but some dogs are very upset when left alone. Personally I think dog owners who leave their dogs alone for long periods should at least have a camera fitted on a test basis to check that their dogs are ok and not distressed.

We had the chance to replace it quite quickly with a sturdy, cedar slatted design. It was of course, our cost to bear. Our mistake, but we only gave our adjoining neighbour a day?s notice that there would be a change. Since then they?re really making life hell for the 3 of us. When given 24 hours notice, (was this verbal?) and how did they react at that point? -

It was a good one as it turned out. Winning after going behind, away from home, is always sweet. Great equalizer from Dembele. Rangers played well but Celtic had many more shots/corners etc so the gap was a possibly bigger than the scoreline suggests. I'd say Rangers dominated the first half hour, and Celtic the last hour. A nice end to a year that got better and better for Celtic.

Love West Dulwich Lamp-post Banner Competition is now live!
Mick Mac replied to rigbydan's topic in The Lounge
West Dulwich, East Dulwich and Dulwich Village are shown on most maps. North Dulwich isn't, and the train station seems to be between East Dulwich and Herne Hill. Postcodes: SE21 as a postcode seems to cover the Village and West Dulwich and the only other Dulwich postcode is SE22. -
nxjen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Something happened that has raised serious > concerns Well - We have now reached the stage of the thread where the initial OP headline has long ago made its initial impact and warned parents and carers of the serious concern issue. However, now the dust has settled, there is room for another discussion - and it's important to take on board that what the Met Police have said makes no reference to abduction or attempted abduction. I find that interesting.

From the Southward News post above: A Met Police spokesperson told the News: ?Police are looking into an incident where a man approached a four-year-old boy in East Dulwich on November 7 at around 3.30pm. ?The boy was with an adult and officers are making further enquiries.? Anyone with information that could help the police should call 101 The spokesperson only goes as far as to say "approached". Not sure what that proves, if anything. Probably that without sufficient evidence or other witnesses, Police do not want to categorise this as a crime, prematurely. There would appear to be a potential disparity between the OP's account/classification of the incident and what the police are willing to say at the moment, for whatever reason.

This week's Time Out says Brick House Bakery's mince pies are the best in London..... well done.

I think for many people, eating out is not a straight comparison of food quality and price as compared to what you could do at home, it's a neutral venue to meet friends, socialise, drink and enjoy being there and feel part of a wider social scene. And even to critique the food.... to hope to be surprised by food ideas and quality that you couldn't achieve at home, but also to be only occasionally disappointed.

For a dead rubber the MC v Celtic game tonight was a classy game. Great appreciation of Celtics passing game from the BT Sport commentary team. Could almost have said they sounded surprised. Robbie Savage, patronisingly said earlier in hre day that even he could manage Celtic to the SPL. But having seen this team in action, I'd suggest he's now aware that Brendan is building a team that's trying to achieve something in Europe longer term.

Well - I think destruction IS a bad thing. It's potentially a publicity stunt that reeks of selfishness. Certainly a charitable donation would be preferable IMO - unless there is some long term political message that works for the greater good over time.

I have to admit it irkes me slightly when people use this term as advice to other people. People seem to use it when they believe something is seen by them to be overpriced. Noone is compelled to buy a product, but money needs to move around for it to work as a means of purchase / barter (and in so doing it generates taxes) It's also your means of buying what "you" want. It's not for one person (a third party to a transaction) to tell another that money is or has been wasted. The money has simply moved from one person to another person (in this case the fresh flower company, northcross road )- how has the third party been affected? Not at all, although some vat has gone into government coffers, as will some income tax (which goes to help those less well off, fund public services etc). By all means express an opinion as to whether the product might bring enough enjoyment for the price being asked - but "wasted money" it is not. Money doesn't get wasted - it's moves around.

You can pay ?50 for a nice bunch of flowers, so I guess its the quality of the flowers that have gone into it and the amount of work. if you like it enough, buy it. Link it up to your burglar alarm.
