  1. Despite all that's been said that's bad about BBW, and many people have said negative things about him, I think he gave me more laughs than anyone else. It seems he offended too many people.
  2. I might make it Sean, but am testing myself with a month without booze, so am considering hibernating for the whole month, but pencil me in nonetheless as the Castle is very handy for me and I'm sure I can enjoy orange and lemonade just as much as Guinness.... At least the disappointment of the result won't be exagerrated by alcohol. Is Michel Platini referring?
  3. Are they both banned permanently, do we know, or is it undecided?
  4. I heard through the East Dulwich Mum's grapevine that there was an East Dulwich Dad's drink during the forum rest period. I hate missing drinks.

If he upset too many people then so be it. Having lent him ?10 at the last drinks - I'm now concerned as to how I might get this back. I'll just have to treat him as another losing bet.

  7. Hi Quids Newmarket - up on Friday, down on Saturday and down overall. Made up for most of it with good win on High Heeled the following weekend. 4 days till Rip gets his chance and after yet another foot injury scare Aiden O Brien seems very happy with his condition and he seems to like the surface. Have also backed, Conduit, Delegator and Mastercraftsman. Went to the Breeders Cup in 2005, backed all of the European horses and they all lost - so you don't know what to expect. Was going to suggest we met for a beer to watch the Saturday night races - but have decided to refrain from beers for November, partly for health reasons and part impending birth, so have decided to watch it indoors, but if Rip wins you will probably hear me from your house!
  8. YES. Bring em back.
  9. I don't mind if Aresenal win the Champions League (provided they win the Premiership first). Bread and butter at home, show off in Europe.
  10. WTF!! Rafa takes off Torres again with the job only half done. Lyon score. I feel for Liverpool fans.
  11. 5 seasons and no premiership - that is enough attempts for any manager to prove himself. I don't think his spending is relevant to the debate as to whether he is a good manager or not. Hope he wins tonight and has a decent season, but then he should move on.

I am just amazed that Liverpool fans accept second/third/fourth best in the Premiership while Rafa obviously prioritises the Champions League. My view is that Rafa's Premier League challenge peaked last season and when a managers improvement peaks, its very rare to see him pick up and improve again. I think its downhill from here for Rafa. I think the players are now losing faith. I think Liverpool fans will see, as soon as he has gone, that he was not good for the club's Premierhip ambitions. I wish Liverpool well but they play dull stuff too often and need new impetus.

You are definately old school. How badly would he have to perform for liverpool fans not to support him.
  14. I'm going to sign off gracefully - its getting late. Enjoy the break Mark, you deserve it and the fact that so many people are wishing you well, I hope makes you feel good on your departure. All the best. Have a great time. (tu)
  15. What time is it now?
  16. I chased him round the clubhouse at the Irish Open at Royal Dublin in the early 1980s but he ran faster than me and all his other pursuers - he was the only autograph I did not get, but he was the biggest star in the golfing world then, it was good just to see him in the flesh.
  17. There is a tribute on BBC at the moment. Seve was my golfing hero growing up (and everyone elses too). He was a special competitor and an entertainer. He could not control his golf or be controlled. He was exciting and entertaining. It is sad to see him grow old too soon with his brain tumour. But some great flashbacks to a great career. [He played the great shot out of the bunker at the Ryder Cup against Ray Floyd with a Tony Penna wood - I remember those - don't know if anyone else does - they were one of the best wooden clubs made prior to the metal clubs coming into popularity]. A great man and I hope he achieves his ambition of coming to the Open at St Andrews next year - that will draw a big crowd. Its very nostalgic viewing.
  18. what forum is next best? I have always been faithful to edf and have never strayed so this will be a big step for me. Im trembling with expectation, apprehension and excitement - but with a little guilt too.

  20. She's not referring to me Quids. Shes referring to Gary McCausland off the telly. (my wife has just told me she has spies who read the forum for her and report back, so I just thought I'd clear that up)
  21. They have created a tablet Brendan, to replace alcohol. Means we don't have to go to the pub. You take one tablet to get "drunk" and another to get sober again. They are making it at Kings - form an orderly queue.
  22. The subject of the programme just passed Iceland on LL in his cab....Can't the media leave us alone?

Is this a thread for woman, about woman. Not sure I would be wise to join in so I won't.
  24. Well done. National coverage - fantaaastic. Expect even more local councillors to pay attention to the forum now.
