I enjoyed the wedding though.
  2. Is it the end of your shift at the Harvester, Iain?

  4. Apparently the man fox gets "locked together" during the big act with the foxy lady - is this true.
  5. Paint your front room like the CPT Keef and pretend the bar staff and customers have gone to the toilet. A home from home.
  6. We achieved our full potential Ruffers - it does not get any higher or better than this. http://www.toffs.com/content/ebiz/toffs/images/2777.gif I support Celtic because on the day I was born in September 1967 , I asked my Dad - "which team is the best in Europe Dad?" - and he said - "Glasgow Celtic son - they beat the mighty Inter Milan, they played them off the park. A great victory for British football".
  7. Gold Cup has been my best race over last 10 years. Not looking so good for leinster though. Losing now. Lost - but good game. London Irish look very strong - maybe a good bet for the Guinness Premiership. Maybe Irish teams will do the rugby slam this year - six nations, heineken cup and English Premiership?
  8. Make it champagne Quids - you deserve it.
  9. I like the jumps in the winter and the flat in the summer Quids. KS was a >?600 winner for me - so its part of the pot of winnings I have been dwindling away ever since. It was towards the end of a very good run of well chosen winners - before I started this thread and became to random in my selections. oh and re the above question - did you go for KS in the end?
  10. Oh I see - I have not tried the whisky with a whiskey chaser idea but I'm sure it got you where you wanted to be. Quite quickly I imagine.
  11. Have just had a few quid on Leinster to beat London Irish (its on sky) at remarkably short odds of 1.4. Still checking RP website every day for news of STS hopefully not running in Breeders Cup - but no news. I have all my winnings from Rips last win on him to win the BC too so could do without STS making an appearance. Both horses now level betting on Betfair which worries me. Have saver on STS as no doubt if it runs it will win. Its a month away and I'm excited. If it was not so late it might have been a good idea to have a Breeders Cup evening in the CPT but I think the Classic is not on until gone 2am!
  12. Was not aware of the 1st marriage Quids, sorry to hear that - however seems to have worked out well for you now. Don't know what the OP must think of his thread - he's not getting much help with his timer thingy.
  13. Are you still paying for it? Apparently if your house is in negative equity, you should not worry as if you have a Dualit, Birmingham Midshires will secure additional borrowings on that.

  15. Yes - I know (grits teeth).

  17. Don't know but I have always been jealous of anyone who could afford one.
  18. Thats excellent self discipline Quids. especially as the missus is away. I think I'd be in the boozer all day.
  19. so what were you doing until 5am anna, dare we ask.
  20. Now what did ed stewart use to say? About to purchase compulsory 6 pack and let the evening roll.(after kids in bed of course).
  21. quids. The current celtic team would struggle to beat west ham.
  22. the irish tried the pipes for a while, decided they were pants and sold them to the scots (on ebay i think).
  23. I honestly thought "Dour Presbyterian Scots" was potentially offensive. Paki is obviously offensive and it is now understood to be so by almost everyone, so only a racist would use it in today's world. Whether it was correct to link the two or not is debatable, but the point I guess was that if enough Scots began to complain about the phrase then it would eventually be highlighted to such an extent that people would think twice about its use. I have no knowledge on this but logic suggests that "Paki" was once a shortened version and later became recist as a result of it being adopted by racists. As for Annaj's comment - you can make a comment about an individual being a dour scot, but to make a general comment Dour Scots, suggest they are all dour and is for me technically racist. As for the I'm one myself so its not racist defence, well I don't think it matters a jot that the person who used the phrase was himself Scottish and he was speaking on behalf of the national broadcaster. And yes I like a good argument.

Not trying to achieve anything major. Just to get people thinking and posting their opinions.
