Bit of a waste of time that Declan - as we predicted. SU and Newcastle drew. But as anyone on this thread will tell you if its 4/1 or 5/1, don't expect to win, the odds are obviously against you. Some bloke on MOTD tonight claims a ?5 and 20 team accumulator made him ?4750 - so there you go. But you might as well do the lottery. Mostly, but not exclusively, this thread is about horses, so feel free to join in, try watching the 3.15 at Longchamp tomorrow, it might be one of the highlights of the racing year. If you want the best footie advice, the footie thread is full of experts. You will have lots of score predictors there and in general thay are quite good. Good luck. Mick.
  2. Ghannati second - Good run, some no hoper won though.

  4. Footballing highlight of the weekend so far - The Football League Show interviews Roy Keane after Ipswich lose goal on 6mins of injury time. Interviewer: "People have asked me to ask this question: I take it you are going to stay on...?" KEANE -- *GLARES* : "I refuse to answer that question" Interviewer: "Ill take that as a yes" RK - CONTINUES TO HOLD MENACING GLARE " You can take it any way you want".......GLARES STRAIGHT AT INTERVIEWER - EYES SAY, DON'T EVER CHALLENGE ME - YOU LITTLE TWAT.... Very scary.
  5. You are a right whinger Davy! ;-) I agree, about Alan Green, he is very negative. I have asked myself many times however why he is in the job he is in and the answer comes from the commentary on key football matters. When Radio5 build up a match they play old clips and Alan Green's key ability to describe what has happened in pressure moments is key, for example the MU win over Bayern Munich to win the European Cup in injury time. I don't like the guy, but I try to be fair and R5 give him the last quarter of key games because he deilvers under pressure. Its always important to put both sides of the argument so although i don't like the guy, I feel I have worked out why Radio5 rate him so highly - next time you are on the edge of your seat, try to intelligently communicate what you are watching, then you will realise where AG's skill lies.

Great night - have only been to 2 so far - but for the first time I felt it was like been out with a group of friends. Enjoyed company of BBW, Quids, Hal, Tillie, Tilles friend Ellie, Jah, Matt, CitizenED, Lady Muck and her friend (and even admin was there) etc. sorry to have missed any names. Yes PGC I did drink the double I owe you - the CPT has a Northern Irish barman called Ross - nice guy - forced me into having a double Black Bush. Nice. As I said, it felt like a night out with friends. best yet for me.

  12. I heard a rumour tonight that HB was a man from the Ire..Land.
  13. I can speak English.
  14. Good luck Declan - but if it is 4/1 - what chance does that mean you have?
  15. I was there tonight to buy your double whisky PGC.
  16. I only know about 3 people so might not be obvious. I'm a worrier you see Jah.
  17. I'm very unfit too. Started running on treadmill 3 years ago and could only do 5 mins - over a few months got up to 25mins one day and nearly died of exhaustion. Stopped and have not been back since. Would suggest little and often when starting, but yes you need to do something - walking is a good start. Good luck.
  18. I hope to pop in later on. Does anyone know what side of the bar ? the side with the TVs or the other one?

That's the problem - you don't know in advance which one will let you down. I like the look of your 3 english selections - don't know anything about partick, but I'm sure you have checked. 4 home wins should not be too difficult to achieve - so you are quite rightly not aiming too high. Good luck.
  20. It was yesterday Woof.
  21. Sea The Stars drawn in stall six for Sunday's Arc By Andrew Scutts10.07AM 2 OCT 2009 SEA THE STARS has been drawn in gate six for the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. Fame And Glory has stall ten, and Conduit 12. Nineteen runners will go to post for the world's richest turf race at Longchamp on Sunday, after Johann Zoffany was the only absentee at Friday's final declaration stage. If recent results are anything to go by, connections of Sea The Stars will be delighted with the draw, as two of the last four winners, Dylan Thomas (2007) and Hurricane Run (2005), were victorious in the race from stall six. However, the Mick Channon-trained Youmzain, who will race in a visor, has been handed a tricky draw in stall one. Although Zarkava won the Arc from stall one last year, her victory was the first from this draw since Prince Royal in 1964. Godolphin's Cavalryman also has work to do to overcome the widest draw in 19. Dar Re Mi, who was disqualified in the Prix Vermeille last month, will race from stall two. The beneficiary of her demotion, Stacelita, has been drawn 16, which may not be ideal for a filly who likes to race prominently, as the stalls numbers go from low against the rail to high on the outside (the opposite to Britain). The classy Vision D'Etat has a decent draw in nine, while Aidan O'Brien's two pacesetters, Set Sail and Grand Ducal, will race from stall 14 and five respectively.
  22. 17Aug08 Leopardstown (7Sft/Hy, RPR94) "He's a nice colt who is half asleep most of the time at home. He's not the finished article physically but he is a very nice prospect for next year." John Oxx 06Jun09 Epsom (12Gd, RPR124) "It was never in any doubt. I didn't think anything was going to beat me coming from behind. This horse has given me a new lease of life." Mick Kinane "This horse has a magnificent presence. He was a beautiful yearling. He did everything right. He took no breaking. Right from the word go everything was right. He has never let us down all the way up. He's gone right up to the very top of the ladder." John Oxx 05Sep09 Leopardstown (10Gd/Y, RPR137) "To find a horse like him at this stage of my life is fantastic and he's the best one I've ridden. It's phenomenal how he can travel, he's never in trouble and I haven't ridden a horse like him who can do it at any distance." Mick Kinane "You wouldn't call running in a Group 1 every month since May, as this horse has done, as being a typical Arc preparation. But Sea The Stars has taken all his races really well this year and seems to be thriving. He is heavier now than he was earlier in the season and he showed today that he is really on top of his game." John Oxx And... "He's one of those landmark horses that come along every 25-30 years that we always remember and he's the nearest living thing to a machine. If any of us is still around at the end of the century, I doubt there will be too many other horses who have achieved what he has done." John Oxx

  25. I have been off work today Mr Ben. Had a bad cold, not well enough to go out, but but still well enough to post. As people kept disagreeing with me I had to keep posting. :))
