Cheers RD. Yes I was more than a little worried, my horses finishing second is a feeling I had my fair share of earlier in the summer, so I was relieved to see Rip see off that challenge. I have just done my research for the Arc and have backed Vision D'Etat and Conduit. STS too short to consider. Vision D'Etat has won 2 group ones this year and is a course and distance winner too. Olivier Peslier knows how to win the Arc too and he is booked to ride. Conduit has been a fantastic horse the last two years. Is a Breeders Cup turf winner and has not been raced since July. Racing Post pundits say the long straight at Longchamp will suit him as he comes from the back of the pack and suits a long run in. 9/1 Conduit and 17/1 Vision D'Etat - smallish bets as we know who the likely winner will be, so just betting to have an interest in the race.
  4. There's a man in their Sue trying to get out.

Not English Premiership, but Mo Johnston playing for Rangers at Celtic Park got a hot reception.
  6. How could you, Jeremy? He'll be very upset. Bless.

Hi Georgia Its seems to me like the forum is significantly more fun with BBW part of it. Sure he oversteps the line sometimes and perhaps he is a little too confident at the moment. I certainly do not think he is ruining the forum - the Lounge is hilarious at times and he for me is one of the most interesting characters and he provokes interesting responses from different people. I personally am not offended by BBW generally but I guess its for Admin to decide how he wants the forum to develop and at the moment BBW is on a long leash. The Forum is many things to different people and he is really only active in the Lounge (not sure if he's allowed anywhere else) We all have different opinions, so in defence of BBW, I'm putting mine forward.
  10. "Ireland rejected the nice Treaty in 2002" Now why would you want to reject such a nice treaty?

I beg to differ Keef - If you ask my family once a week is not enough - so I said "for that reason I'm out" and joined the athiest classes.
  13. I'd be supporting you Quids, if it wasn't for Bellamy and Given in my FF team.

  15. Ted - Will the aforementioned deep fried wolf be made available on Friday night at CPT for all forumites to feast on? I'll bring the dipping sauce.
  16. You quite like him then, Anna.
  17. I have now backed Arsenal, Liverpool (both big profits) and Chelsea (hedging). MU I'm exposed on, did not fancy them but they look good, if I hedge on them then best time to do that is when they next lose. So keeping an eye on things, as, if I get them covered I could be in a really good position.
  18. Is that with family? I'm golfing in the morning, but not averse to an hour in the Herne every so often with the kids as they love it.
  19. STS
  20. Deckchairs on St James Park at 6pm Friday everning. I was meeting a cousin visiting for Ireland and he could not quite believe how warm it was. Lovely.
  21. Don't worry Quids - West Ham will not go down. I honestly think they are too good.
  22. I agree STS is fantastic - but I have been a fan of Rip all season and I would love to see him have the last laugh and win the Breeders Cup Classic. If STS remains unbeaten and wins the Arc and the Classic then he is the best horse ever, I will just find it amazing if he does that. I think Rip will challenge him hard in the Classic over 10 furlongs - that I think is Rips best distance - and looking again at the Eclipse replay its a fantastic race and very little between them. If you look closely too you will see where Rip stalls briefly in the run to the line as Kinane's whip hits his nose, at that point Rip was catching. That little bit of controversy just gives Rip an outside chance in a rematch. Eclipse

Quids (doesn't like jokes) Wasn't it a bell? The dogs not Carlton Mick Mac: Yes it was a bell Quids, you know that. But we can adapt for humours sake.
  24. Just in case anyone missed it: Rips stamina wins out
  25. He's like the Premiership's answer to Pavlov's dog - blow the whistle and he will score a goal. [i'm proud of that one]
