Brillian Reg - I have only been here 9 years but I'm impressed with your summary. Franklins was already here when I arrived, can't imagine it not being part of LL. Pool table in the EDT - could that make a comeback - the Gowlett pool table is fab.

I agree Sharon. I have my ticket.

Ha ha. It seems you are the top girl on the forum Annaj - I'm still looking forward to seeing what makes you so brill but I'm sure BBW can't be wrong. I'm always scared to disagree with you unless Bignumber5 stomps on my head.

I have just seen a clip of the "Multi Coloured Swap Shop" and I just thought I'd test myself on the phone number that for about 5 years was on the bottom of the screen and every child knew. I'm not sure I have got it right - and in the wikipedia age I could obviously check, but it just feels right. What odd thing can you remember from so so long ago.

What has happened to Villa!. Poor team this season (only capable of beating Liverpool so far).

Very noble of you to defend Matt, Anna. Nice to see some Liverpool fan loyalty there.

TLS, I think he may have gone down under, but that's just to visit the folks back home.

Tabby cat run over on Barry Road
Mick Mac replied to PennyDreadful's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm not a cat fan, but there is no doubt this is a sad story and people should respect others losses. We have a local cat who sems to have adopted my children as friends, I'm trying not to get attached to the cat too, but its getting harder, he's winning me over. -
I don't tend to go there - I liked the old Lounge where there was a combination of serious and less serious threads to jump between, I prefered them both in the same place.

Its not a stronger group stage this year by virtue of the change of system whereby they have let in a number of teams who are further down the Uefa rankings. Check out the uefa coefficients of some of the tier 4 teams, they are very low. The top two will be strong in all groups and should ensure some good matches but in the end they will go through. I'd like to see Ronaldo back in England getting kicked about at MU or Liverpool, that would be good.

Sorry Anna - I keep forgetting you are an active fan as opposed to a TV fan like myself.

it does not matter who you draw anna. The group stages are a formality for the english teams. And in general as some weaker teams have been allowed in this year its going to be even easier for the top 2 in each group.

I'm putting that down as a 3-1 aggregate defeat. Don't count deflected goals or cheating bugger penalties. And we won the singing. So there, stick that in your pipe and smoke it. Was very pleased with Celtic tonight. Thought they played dignified football and its early days with the new manager. Hope we do not lose any players next week. I see a really top Arsenal team developing here and think they will win the Premiership. I think they have outstanding players all over the park and the Arshavin and Vermalen?? additions have really lifted them. Well done Arsenal a deserved win overall. I'd like to have seen what might have happened without the dive and without last weeks deflected goal. Each were the first goal in each match, so each of those goals were crucial in the overall outcome. Brendter - "I did not see the incident" - Classic.

Arshavin is beginning to remind me of Kenny Dalglish. Even has the same hair.
-
I'll leave it to Kenny Dalglish to do my whinging for me - he seems to be doing a good job at slating Eduardo.
-
Lucky goal, own goal and a dive penalty. No doubt Arsenal will score more and say how easy the whole thing has been.

LG. Matt knows far too much about football to make such a simple error. 0-3 it is. However as he thought celtic would lose the first leg by 4 or 5 i suggest he is not taking tonights game seriously.
-
Hail Hail, the Celts are here. To register a goal would be nice. B)

If that's true Lard then that's very fair.

Also, Shankly and Paisley were tough men who did not accept second best. They made the right signings and reaped the rewards. Are the people who support Rafa generally too young to have supported both the Shankly and Paisley teams? I feel Liverpool have possibly the greatest fans in the world but perhaps not the best decision makers at the club to make the team successful. Of course MU went through a long period chasing the dream before Ferguson so I'm sure you will get there, just not sure you will do it with Rafa.

That was me Anna - looks like you have attributed it to Matt. I stand by it though, I feel Houllier and Benitez have been give too long > 10 years between them.

I hope you are right Matt, but I'd suggest it might be another near miss in the end. And Shankly and Paisley will be rolling on their graves at the thought of a manager being allowed so many near misses.

I'm sure you can be nicer Atila - go on try really, really, hard.

I always thought Liverpool should have taken Martin O'Neill rather than going European. Contrary to some opinions his teams play very good football, very direct, but not long ball. I think his time may now have passed which would be a shame if he never managed a top 4 team.
