Bumping my own message just in case RD did not see my congrats from the previous page.....

  5. Well done guys - I imagine it was a quite an adrenalin rush if you have real money on a horse like that. I had 20 on MC just in case of a slip up but STS too short for me, although I suspect the odds reflected its class. I always maintain that horseracing is a great sport and I can admire STS performance even though not backing it myself. I hope I have backed a thoroughbred in the 400m ladies tonight, and Richards will win, she was 1.41. I don't know what I was thinking of betting on athletics, but she seemed to coast home in her semi. Fingers crossed.
  6. And when offered a spread bet to back up your prediction Matt, you scarpered. "In eight home games against English sides Celtic have lost only one - 2-1 to Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest in 1983 - while they are unbeaten in their last five. That run includes wins against Manchester United and Blackburn and draws against United, and Liverpool twice. It's hard to call this one. Celtic have an excellent record at home in the Champions League but if Arsenal turn up and play to their best, they will more than likely walk away from the east end of Glasgow with victory. The likes of AC Milan when they were European champions, Lyon, Juventus and of course Manchester United have all been beaten at Celtic Park in recent seasons"
  7. LOL Quids. Nearly sprayed my lunchtime coffee.
  8. Bye Dom.
  9. ED = Better people (6-2)
  10. Sea Cow beats Ollies. (1 to us - are you keeping score?)
  11. C'mon guys. Lets start the new season on a lighter note. *Secretly hopes he can maintain his own dignity tomorrow under barrage of "I told you so" abuse from Arsenal fans*
  12. Eurosport make Celtic favourites ;-)
  13. I agree SP - its a great pub - I have been there a few times when I use to live near Lewisham - (should be the place to be when Celtic triumph tonight)
  14. Norwich appoint Paul Lambert http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter.com/full_article.asp?i=4835[/url]
  15. Christ -are there Premiership games on tonight ??? Better check if EDT are showing Celtic Arsenal - what do you think?
  16. Don't you start RC.
  17. I have 3 (me, a friend and Matt) for the game tonight. Anyone else joining us for the Celtic mauling of Arsenal? I will try to get there a bit before 7.30 to get a seat.

You are with me this issue then TLS - I have backed Arsenal and a saver on Chelsea. (I'm assuming you did not mean Spurs or West Ham?).
  19. Every horse loses eventually RD. Its too short for me, but I'm sure you are right. I put a bet on Mastercraftsman last week as it looked like STS might not run, but now I'm hoping for some morning rain in York. Notice Rip is 25/1 with WillHill for Arc but only 16/1 with Paddy Power - do you think this suggests he is going to go for it?
  20. My favourite dirty politician is John Major [Regards. Edwina]
  21. Confidently predict 100+ posts for the CPT.
  22. That is interesting BBW. Its also interesting that this was announced by the BBC when John Inverdale was in the middle of an interview with Bolt's promotion agent, who immediatley said it would not be Bolt, Bolt is 100% clean etc. Since then, not a dickie bird.
  23. I know - they all ran far too fast.
  24. They are not real Daizie.
