  1. Damn - she sees through plan. No - that's fine Anna - When at the races and given the choice of: 1) give money to barman and get drinks in return, or 2) give money to bookie and get nothing in return for some reason I tend to choose option 2.
  2. Funny how an innocent thread can end up like this - disgusting.
  3. Weds evening meetings at Kempton might be best. Train from Waterloo. That way we don't have to take time off work. First race is usually 6.30 I think.
  4. I like that. :)
  5. Whao - that is Hong Kong style - I'll be buying more from her.

    Mikecg

I have lots of PMs from Mikecg to remember him by - I read them from time to time, for old times sake, to remind myself what a cunt I am. He told me so many times I began to believe it. Oh and Dulwich Mum seems to be one too - she posted his PMs just so they were no longer private. He seemed to improve and then mysteriously disappeared. Of course he may be no longer with us.
  7. Don't you wink at me.
  8. ???? - Don't you recognise an offer of a day at the races with a young lady when you see one?
  9. Buggie - Yeats is running on Thurs - trying to win the Ascot Gold Cup for the 4th year running - if he does you can cheer him home in what would be a incredible achievenent.
  10. Don't trust him - he's just lucky.
  11. Done - and it only takes a second - so come on all forumites.....
  12. Celtic have a new manager - did anyone notice - no me neither - his name seems to be Mogga. Who would give a job to a Mogga?
  13. I have a mate over from Ireland for Ascot Friday and then we will watch the Lions game Saturday in ED - is there an EDF group already meeting or should we form one - where's best venue? Anyone hoping to watch it? We will probably be a little hungover but hopefully we will be weighed down with winnings,,,,,?
  14. THE opening day of Royal Ascot left one major bookmaker surveying a scene of "carnage" after heavily backed favourites Scenic Blast, Mastercraftsman and Canford Cliffs proved the major culprits on a day of expensive woe for the layers. While Strike The Tiger offered bookmakers some relief by taking the finale at 33-1, the afternoon's two other winners, Paco Boy and Judgethemoment, were also popular with punters. Victor Chandler spokesman Neal Wilkins said: "Mastercraftsman, Canford Cliffs and Judgethemoment were truly awful results. Canford and Judgethemoment were massive losers in the book, and it was hard to take. It's been carnage here. They are going out of the trading room on stretchers." :-$ Bookies embarrassed at Ascot. [favourites for the rest of the week will no doubt be shortened further]

  17. I met someone recently who had taken his son out of Goodrich 4 years ago and had renamed it "Badrich". However my daughter's experience is a good one and she enjoys it, she is only 6 and in her second year there but I suspect that a lot has changed in the last few years. My wife works for the department of education policy division and is close to those parents who are involved at Goodrich - and ofsted have asked that Goodrich make more of their local parent group so this is happening. I have no obvious complaints about Goodrich as yet. When we met the Head before the my daughter attended she gave me the impression that she was results driven and that's what I wanted, teachers need to be accountable. I'm not recommending it so much as thinking in type - my thoughts are that Goodrich's standards had dropped a few years ago but the school is I hope now on the upward curve.
  18. i have a friend who does this and yes it is annoying.
  19. As I said lard - all my own research :)
  20. Canford Cliffs also wins.
  21. Mastercraftsman wins. (no bets so far, just for info)
  22. Quids - please turn your attention to Friday - you seem to have the midas touch.
  23. I have had a text from a friend asking if MASTERCRAFTSMAN is unbeatable in the 3.45?? He seems to think so.
  24. Having shopped with Willam Rose for some time we recently went back to supermarket steak. We reverted to WR again at the weekend and on Saturday had 2 medium cut steaks for ?10 - it was the nicest juciest steak i had had for a long time - will not be going back to supermarket steak. I saw a guy being quoted ?16 for an organic chicken in William Rose a couple of years ago. He responded by saying he would "have a less grand chicken". My wife seems to get good value there though, the bacon is really good as is the sausage/chicken fillets - I agree with Sean - no excess water in their products makes a big difference. The OP was more about having an upmarket store looking seriously at ED and it suggests the area is continuing to improve. Change may not be to everyone's taste but a better quality supermarket available within the area would surely be a good thing.
  25. No research of my own but City AM goes as follws: Today 3.05 Fleeting Spirit 4.20 Canford Cliffs 4.55 Judgethemoment
