  1. boks dominating 2nd half so far but no score as they have missed 2 pens. Lions need a score to settle nerves.
  2. brilliant stuff. 8-16 in lions favour at half time. Boks are on the back foot but still v dangerous of course. Adam jones and shaw have made a big difference and the scrums are a worry for the boks. If lions can reproduce the same intensity in the second half they can win this.
  3. 13-5 lions. Great game and contrary to some opinions lions without vickery are matching boks up front.kearney has been superb and scored a top try.
  4. I think Murray has some support in England - but the "Come on Tim" shouts show that he has a long way to go, the fans are telling him he will never have the place in their gearts that Henman had, which is harsh - not to support him is one thing but actively distracting him is another. He is not as likeable as Henman perhaps - but then Henman was a loser and Murray is a winner.

    Great Gigs

Absolutely GG - should really have done it 20 years ago - but never too late. And the Boss on Sunday too - hows that for someone who has never been to a stadium gig before - mid life crisis?

  8. Keef - he told us he was Bad in the 1980s. It was only a matter of time.
  9. Quids. I have to say that when i met you i never felt threatened. You came across as such an easy going chap.
  10. well said keef. That sums it up appropriately.

  13. I wish I could be like David Watts (Paul Weller).
  14. TMZ website say he suffered a cardiac arrest this afternoon (presumably US time 5.20 pm = approx 10.20 pm UK time) and they were unable to revive him. Jackson reported as dead

Thanks Eliza/Ted She was hoping for some positive responses - so I will show her these in the morning. Ted - she did actually write it as a song and I suggested we could post it as a poem, so glad it reminded you of such a good song. I'll ask her to listen to this tomorrow. Mick.

Some day I'd like to come and stay somewhere Where I can sleep so I can stay alone So when our dreams come out there We can stay by the beach and alone some dreams come in to me so now I'm alone My daughter (age 6) Should I be pleased or worried? She says she does not really want to be alone.
  17. I think the Neil Young support on the Saturday is much better - like Pretenders and Seasick Steve too - but thats probably because I'm not "with it" and don't really know of any of the guys supporting Bruce. PS Have now checked them out and realise how big these bands are and what I fool I have been to admit that I don't know who they are - but I'm going to leave my comment there - it would be dishonest to remove it. You have got to stay honest with giggirl around. ;-)
  18. 53 people have read this thread so far and noone said a thing Sherwick. So I will say it made me laugh. Hows that?
  19. Bono - he asks us all to give to Africa - but he does all he can to avoid paying his home country taxes - there are poor people in Ireland too Bono - charity begins at home. Yep thats twice I have said that on this thread - hope he reads the EDF. He says his children find him embarrassing - no Bono the whole of Ireland finds you embarrassing.
  20. i give up whats the answer? (always find the questions too hard).
  21. think the brilliance and unpredictability of roberts and o driscoll meant the lions did not seem to suffer too much from the slow service. They often turned poor service to their advantage. Im really hoping for it all to work out well on saturday. Anyone else think the lions will win on saturday and set up a grand finale?
  22. Philips delivery was slow in the most part but he did make a number of forward runs. Quick service is vital.
  23. Well said giggirl. Its very skilful to reinforce your point in such a diplomatic way. And now I agree you are right, he probably knows he made a mistake. He probably did not know that quite so many of his fans associated with him for his politics as well as his music (or the politics in his music) - and now he knows he won't make that mistake again.
  24. It looks a stromg team to me. I would agree with the Welsh front row. Monye missed 2 great try chances and you have got to take those. Hopefully Mike Philips service will speed up. Ellis might not have been far away from a call up. Its a great achievement for Kearney to come to the fore so quickly in the last year or two - don't know if he has replaced Byrne or if Byrne is injured but Kearney really made a positive difference when he came on last time. Hope this can get this one to set up the decider.
  25. GG I know you are a bigger music fan than most but do we really expect these rock stars not to make the most of commercial opportunites - they milk us to the max on CD prices and concert ticket prices - we don't seem to mind that - why are we suprised if they take an additional few million from an advert. These guys are multi multi millionaires - they did not get there by missing opportunities. I know you are dissapointed that he did this but I'd say the apology was nothing more than public relations. These rock stars are like mini Walmarts - huge money making machines on legs. I'm there for the music - don't mind what else he does to make money. I know he's rich now but the old songs are there forever, written when he was poor.
