  1. A gift is a gift. No income tax or capital gains tax implications. Provided you survive any cash gift by 7 years no iht implications either so a man of your age should not worry. You can Google the iht exempt amounts for gifts out of income but any amount is exempt anyway assuming you are not dead in 7 years.
  2. It's maybe Leicester v the north London duo. Is there a north london derby left this season. If so that could be tasty and even a title decider. That would be something.
  3. At 800 it's ?1000 per sq foot. Quirky though.

  5. Going on the Friday I think.
  6. Is it the music that is the main similarity?...

  9. I'm hoping that valuation means he is half decent. Nothing else to go on though - BR?
  10. Tracey at ED leisure centre kids swimming lessons.
  11. How about calling it "Souper Salad"

  13. I genuinely think it's a great idea. I love my own home made soup. You need a title like a soup barrista type of thing. If there isn't a term already just invent one. Soup is great but the bread to go with it is important too. I'm sure you can take this idea and soup it up a bit. I'm assuming the actuary thing has become boring...
  14. Any good ? Celtic have agreed an 18-month loan deal with Manchester City for teenage star Patrick Roberts. Sportsmail first revealed Ronny Deila?s interest in the ?12million rated England youth player earlier this month. And Roberts is expected in Glasgow to watch Sunday?s League Cup semi-final clash with Ross County from the Hampden stands before completing a medical ahead of Monday?s deadline.
  15. I thinks its actuary quite a good idea.
  16. Yes DF. I'm also not a big fan of the Herne.
  17. I'm not an M&S shopper generally despite there being one at Victoria station, as their food is ready meal"ish", and their wine I think maybe overpriced, and being own brand you cant really pin it down for price comparison, but I still like to have one on the lane and i'm sure ill use it occasionally for upmarket jars of stuff. I'd imagine you could go in there needing nothing and still buy quite a few nice things.
  18. Well done to all those still doing it. Good work.

Exactly right. I guess the only difference is that the OP seemed to think it was the waiter's / restaurant's responsibility to assess the level of noise and act on behalf of other diners - which I would agree with if it was extreme, but it seems from the conversation with the waiter afterwards that the waiter had not noticed, so it may have been debatable whether the noise was disruptive in this case.

The USP of the upmarket cinemas is a very sophisticated offering and appearance. They are not selling the movie, they are selling the whole evening experience (maybe not unique to picture house cinemas). You may doubt it but a lot of money goes into researching the whole product and its target audience. I'd add that I'd decide to go to this cinema for an evening and consider booking whatever film is available afterwards.
  21. 4. Jose Mourinho's begging letter to Man Utd is pathetic. How the mighty have fallen. If he wants to prove himself as a top manager he should join a club like Swansea, Norwich or Bournemouth where there isn't endless pots of money to dip into in the transfer market. Didn't he already do this winning the UEFA Cup and then Champions League with Porto. The EPL is not the only benchmark.
  22. I used to not have particularly high expectations of behaviour in a curry house. I wonder if the parents thought they were in a relatively relaxed environment, unaware of stressed fellow customers. Make a complaint at the time either to the staff or the family directly.
  23. It's tricky. Especially if you are not a parent yourself. Talking loudly, that is subjective. If the children were seated and otherwise behaving well then it's difficult to say what is the right volume for a conversation. The parents presumably were much closer to this "noise" and were not disturbed by it.
