As a guide I think its usually in the ?18-25 per person range. -
s/be Clinton I think...

We were offered our number 1 choice of Sydenham School (girls) which we are happy with. Its a shame that we still don't have the opportunity to go to a school that is actually in central East Dulwich but there you go. It will be a no 176 bus ride for my daughter. We live on Friern Road and are greater than 100 on the waiting list for Charter ED.... so much for that. On balance I'd rather my child went to an established school with "only" a good Ofsted rating than a brand new school with no record as yet to rely upon. If we had the choice, which we don't, I think I'd probably still opt for the established school, although I wish CED all the best.

Wetherspoons has scrapped its traditional Sunday lunch roast dinner.
Mick Mac replied to DulwichFox's topic in The Lounge
I like neither Weatherspoons nor roast dinners in pubs, so non issue for me and millions of others I'd suggest. -

How sad. I didn't know about the stroke.

As I originally referred to his employability being apparently unaffected, I think he got off lightly. Would have been better for everyone (bar JC) had it had gone to court - but if he had assaulted a black person in the same way he would have been unemployable.
-
If you committed a physical and racial (lazy Irish) assault on someone in your workplace Alan - what chance do you think you would have of immediately getting a new job on improved terms to the old one?

Best Restaurant in London: is just down the road ...
Mick Mac replied to Syd53's topic in The Lounge
I don't think we are jealous. We have Si Mangia after all.... they look the same to me. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to go to either tbh. -
It was the price Clarkson paid for this not to go to court. End of.
-
I like the sign. It's a bit different.

Yes. also ED suffering from lack of change - same old same old (with the pubs at least).

I wasn't talking about the money. The negligible impact on Clarkson's employability was what I had in mind.
-
"the incident" being not defined publically, means Clarkson gets off rather lightly imo.

Best Restaurant in London: is just down the road ...
Mick Mac replied to Syd53's topic in The Lounge
Its all based on customer satisfaction - and what the customer expected from the restaurant, for the price paid. Top restaurant in London for customer satisfaction I'd call it. Some might be disappointed if on a trip to London from across the world, decided to go out of the way to find this little gem, with the many high end Italian's in central London. Tying in Trip Advisor reviews with what you want/expect is not always easy. But often with Italian restaurants - simple is best - so hats off to it. -

thanks - and to save people having to open the link just to find the name of the restaurant: Trattoria Raffaele: Neighbourhood Italian crowned best restaurant in London by TripAdvisor -
I wish you luck Steve - and personally don't doubt that the damage could have been caused by the vibration - but with SE22 being a known subsidence black spot it might be difficult to prove and to compensate a group will potentially become public knowledge and lead to a flood of further claims - you might actually be in a stronger position on a sole claim, they will never admit liability but might be inclined to settle with one person.

All added together makes for a pretty poor environment. Not all the time obviously but I think these fans think they can get away with it in a football stadium, safety in numbers etc. It will change eventually.

Ok. What makes football fans such horrible prats. I like the sport but hate the aura of football fans and the chants etc that go on in football stadiums.

Its a big factor in what makes a good pub/bar nowadays. I'd like it to be better than I can do at home preferably and I don't mind paying for that. And yes the Herne was once very good, went off that place a long time ago and suspect it will be hit very hard by WGT success. -
I think there is a difference between music that people pay to go to see and needs a dedicated space (albeit can be used for other things) and music that is just there as an accompaniment to eating and drinking, such as provided at Watsons General Telegraph... Whilst I like the fact that the Ivy House provides live advertised bands I suspect the HM may end up going down the WGT route. A bit of a soft option, but more commercial. Most of the grimy places I used to go to see live music seem to have closed down years ago, the Powerhouse in Islington or the Mean Fiddler for example. Maybe its not what young peeps do these days, they probably go to the Indigo O2 instead. http://www.shadyoldlady.com/location.php?loc=2467
