  1. Fair play to you Pickle. However if you have so many offers over asking price it suggests the asking price was "wrong". But the main thing is that you were happy. Your buyers will have really appreciated your reasonable stance I'd imagine.

  3. C'mon the Rangers.... http://talkingbaws.com/2016/04/young-rangers-fan-spots-ronny-deila-at-manchester-city-ground-sings-come-on-the-rangers-in-his-face/

Every government has to put a price on all public sector expenditure. I know everyone knows that already but if it keeps going up, who pays? like public sector pensions it needs reform. Its not good to have your employment terms changed but its got to be addressed at some point.
  5. Its a bit rich tbh when Doctors complain about creeping privatisation - they give their time and take the money. They feed the beast. The junior doctors don't benefit - and their NHS cake is not as nice a cake as their predecessors' cake, but that's life I'm afraid.
  6. And Austin Reed !

I'm getting inside your brain - and you still think its you talking.
  8. I don't think a junior doctor could afford school fees necessarily "How much do junior doctors get paid? Trainee doctors currently have a starting salary of ?22,636 - at Foundation Year 1 (F1) - rising with experience to reach ?30,000 within four years. Doctors in specialist training (ST) receive a salary of between ?30,002 and ?47,175, while those who make the grade can earn up to ?69,325. You don't just walk off the street to start as a trainee doctor either, as they are expected to have a medical degree, which can take between five to six years to get. Junior doctors enjoy a boost to their salary thanks to a complex system of supplements. This means they can earn on average ?40,000 in the initial stages of training, according to the Department of Health's estimates, and ?56,000 in the later stages. " But like other professions - its tough starting out - employers want their pound of flesh and tend to get it from young keen employees. These employees like doctors are motivated by and can see the financial reward (a mix of public and private consultancy) in the future. In that respect the NHS changes reflect the business model of other professions. (im putting aside the vocational arguments etc for the moment) Consultants at around the age of 40 probably could afford school fees. They receive from and give back to the private sector. They are not on strike - obviously.
  9. I have to say I don't approve of going again after the sealed bids process. Take your medicine I guess. Its supposed to be a fair fight and if you lose out, so be it. Lots of houses do however return to the market - the mortgage process is tougher than it was and accepted offers need to be backed up pretty quickly. But you might find by that time its not the house you really wanted after all.
  10. Unlawful killing ...
  11. I once won a sealed bid auction (yes it was happening in ED in 2001) - of course the estate agent tells you that you didn't beat the second best bid by much - they would say that wouldn't they. As regards house purchases - putting in a very good offer and having it accepted puts you in control. There is then a long process and opportunities to negotiate further after survey etc - the initial offer being accepted is just the beginning.
  12. Predicted prize money table - makes interesting reading (Leicester will get less than Spurs etc due to the facility fee) http://www.totalsportek.com/football/premier-league-prize-money-table-2015/

Actually I'd rather see Spurs win it - I'm just not sure what the reason is but something feels wrong about Leicester winning it. Can't put my finger on why though.

  15. Darren O'Dea with some observations on Roy Keane's management "He's a very good manager," O'Dea said. "At a club like Celtic he would be under massive pressure, something he's lived with his whole career." After moving on-loan to Ipswich in 2010 from Celtic, the Irish defender sampled first-hand how Keane operates. "I was very impressed with him in my time at Ipswich," O'Dea told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme. "He's portrayed in the media as a real tough guy which he certainly is, but he's got a very articulate manner about him as well. "He's a very witty guy, he's funny. He's good company and he's a very good manager. All the sport science in football, he's very clued up. Probably the most knowledgeable guy I've come across in football. He knows football inside-out, watches all types of football. Darren O'Dea O'Dea played under Keane during a spell on-loan at Ipswich from Celtic "Of course there that's streak, he's a guy you wouldn't want to cross. When you're doing your job and you're doing it well he'd be the first to say well done, but likewise if you're not and he feels that you're not giving 100% he'll be the first to tell you." O'Dea, capped 20 times by his country, feels Keane will have benefitted from a spell working alongside Martin O'Neill as assistant manager in the Republic of Ireland set-up. "He wouldn't have done it with many other managers and he's probably learned a lot from Martin O'Neill as well," O'Dea continued.

  19. You said the same 2 years ago Jah. But even if the cleaning lady did that it won't be enough to save her from the sack. You might be jesting but Michael O Neill is NI manager and won sports personality coach of the year. He was manager of shamrock rovers when they played Spurs in the Europa a few years ago.
  20. They are sprouting up everywhere.
  21. Would say its undecided as yet whether he's going to be good or bad. Still learning. Anyway just on change of odds today, Michael O Neill has moved to third fav. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/celtic/next-permanent-manager
  22. I think most people don't buy expensive things all the time or cheap things all the time. Most people I'd guess buy reasonably cheaply most of the time and every now and again buy something expensive as a treat. Its not that people necessarily have heaps of money - but when you decide to treat yourself, its nice to have the shops available to do that. Highly priced shops don't need to shift massive amounts - their margins are obviously higher. Their desirability is partly linked to their affordability/lack of. People who do lots of exercise are in some cases doing it to look good (and remain healthy) - why shouldn't they want to look good while doing it too. They will have done their research - no doubt. Chains don't often make the mistakes that independents often do. It will be a success I'm sure.
