  1. Ireland France. Host nations have a big advantage. It's not confirmed yet, but a little bird has told me that, to even things up, Ireland are allowed to use their hands.

    Nice one Jerry. Where's Tom?
  5. Friends from my hometown in NI on facebook Protestant friends are sending pics of them at the NI matches Catholic friends are sending pics of being at the ROI matches But for a long term solution we could do something about the fans openly sporting their political/club loyalties at the games - there is a Flags and Emblems Act in NI which applies in for example workplaces, so you can't hang a flag that might intimidate the other side of the community. Obviously doesn't apply in football grounds. It would be nice if we could all go and support the same team and be welcome. That seems a long time off.

Would be ironic if England gave it up and NI kept it. My pleasure at NI getting through last night was affected slightly by seeing fans with huge flags with Rangers emblems on them at the match - a clear sign from them I feel that catholics are still not welcome to be part of their support. That should be resolved.

  9. Its all gone quiet on the nasty Russians hooliganism issue. I think England have to take some of the blame now, although the policing has been appalling, tear gas first, think later, ruining it for law abiding fans. Meanwhile, all that Ireland could think of as a chant to wind up the Swedish fans was "Go back home to your hot wives...." :)

I was thinking of switching to GG - a mate of mine who lives nearby is on it and he works in telecoms, so that's suggests its good - ill check with him though. I'd be sceptical about all the charitable stuff - is it not owned by BT?
  14. Death of a fan from my hometown. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-36515775
  15. I suspect the expulsion threat is a threat to the fans to behave - not intended to be carried out I was going to say it would be completely unprecedented to throw a team out of a tournament - but I guess it has happened in respect of behaviour inside grounds (at club level) as RD said. As regards inside grounds its clearly Russian aggression in this case. In terms of outside grounds the French authorities need to take a stance to be proactive rather than the reactive tear gassing of everyone - but then it cant be blamed on the police that it starts in the first place.
  16. The clip runs into the next one - which is even better - awkward breakfast

That's part of why the NHS is as "big" as it is.
  24. I think he could possibly have gone from Southampton to Arsenal if he achieved another top 6 or better next season - He'd potentially have been available at the right time rather than coming off a transitional season at Everton. I'm not sure what additional kudos Everton brings to his CV - you might be right Arsenal may see it differently. But Pochetino went direct from Saints to Spurs.
  25. It could be any one of the attached, perhaps including a Toby Carvery? But it seems all of them have some sort of eatery attached - or is it going to be Vintage Inn or a Miller and Carter steakhouse? I wonder if that's already decided - but in any case not a trendy independent - if ED has qualms about the occasional chain creeping in then look at poor old DV. I suspect most of the DV peeps go to Franklins or Le Chardon anyway. https://www.innkeeperslodge.com/foodanddrink/
